4. Society doesn't consider our babies dying a life-changing experience because we can have more babies
5. #babyloss is STILL taboo
6. A parent NEVER forgets their children who died
7. Grief AND joy can coexist
Here's a few things I've learned being part of the #babyloss community 🧵
1. It isn't rare as they say
2. Pregnancy isn't sunshine for everyone
3. Pregnancy complications aren't spoken about enough because it's too negative to read about during pregnancy
1 in 4 pregnancies end in a miscarriage and nearly 2.6million babies are stillborn this year. Why are we so afraid to talk about it? Is it unbelievable or ugly that we try to avoid it? Do we think it's contagious? So many are suffering in silence because of the shame to share
Visit https://t.co/aRGhjWW2Nw to submit your baby's names to be read aloud during the Wave of Light. I will also take some keepsakes with me for persons who need. Sending gentle hugs to everyone #BabyLossInJamaica#BabyLossAwarenessWeek#WaveOfLight

On October 15, we will host our annual #waveoflight to light up the world and show how short yet impactful our babies lives were. Please join us at Emancipation Park in Kingston or Skylark in Negril, and if you can't, light your candle wherever you are #BabyLossAwarenessWeek
@julietcuthbert Is this something I can share with bereaved moms and dads? An issue highlighted is the language used by counselors when speaking to us.

Let’s talk about mental health & bereavement 💙 How do you feel about the language used around grief?
The world often wants us to ‘get back to normal’ but this can feel scary for someone grieving, who doesn’t want to forget their person. #WorldMentalHealthDay#WMHD#WMHD22

It takes everyone to raise awareness. Chances are you or someone you know has experienced this. My hope for Oct is for more info, education to be spread to those who don't know the frequency + lasting effects of #pregnancyandinfantloss but @themohwgovjm has no stats since 2017 😥
Babies didn't stop dying. There probably have been more deaths. We all know data helps to inform, educate and create change. It's truly sad & disheartening to be asking for the same data for years and nothing is forthcoming. Shows how little care is given to this experience
