If you haven't played with the new live video feature in Apple's Keynote... holy smokes.
The biggest update ever.
It's LIVE video (even MULTIPLE inputs)... as an object in Keynote.
Complete game changer for presentations, sales, and education.
@BarryQuinnME@fordnation If on iOS 15: take a screenshot of the QR code (volume+power), open the Photos app, then long press on the QR and tap “Add to Apple Health”. Or just point the iPhone camera at the QR code then tap “Health”. “No usable data” means upgrade to iOS 15. iOS 15.1 adds Wallet support.
@pcjetprunerii@fordnation The QR code is not an ID card, as you point out it can be copied. The QR code is a vaccination record, identical to data on the PDF. Humans can read PDFs and figure out if you have two full doses, etc. QR code is so humans don’t have to read the PDF. Still need ID though. :)
@nandon2425@ARICBRINDLEY1@fordnation@celliottability @krasheedmpp The Verify Ontario app is not for downloading QR codes, it is for businesses to scan them. To get your QR code, visit https://t.co/WNE053NZKf - if your birth month is May to August you can get a QR code today, Sept to Dec tomorrow, and everyone else starting Monday.
@Blueorchidnight@fordnation@celliottability @krasheedmpp The QR code is not for a website. Scanning it requires the Verify Ontario app. Tap through the introduction to the health app and scan again. When iOS 15.1 is out, it will appear in Apple Wallet. Until then, you’ll have to tap a lot to bring it up inside the Apple Health app.

@jasondcox@rachelmack @c_9 @grassroots_team @dw_harrison @jm_mcgrath In addition to upgrading to iOS 15 and watchOS 8, also make sure that you re-download the Grassroots Wallet pass - a Green/Yellow QR code in your Apple Wallet will NOT work but a Black/White Wallet pass from Grassroots is fine.
@rjmauti Upgrade to watchOS 8 to fix it. Also try adding it to Apple Health by scanning the QR code with your iPhone: when watchOS 8.1 and iOS 15.1 are released, it will officially show up in your Wallet in an Apple Health pink and you can delete the grassroots QR now in your Wallet.
@quadraticsolver@eric_ruleman@TimSweeneyEpic They used to before Apple came along. Everyone accepted it as standard business practice. “Buy our app and the price will show up on your phone carrier bill,” is how it worked before Apple changed the rules on carriers. Even “pay with your phone” was led by carriers getting a cut
@JoshCMandel I was just starting to watch your Fine-grained Security Policies beyond OAuth2 talk which mentions "pre-analysis + db query" for access control. Have you looked at Open Policy Agent (OPA) for this? It seems well-thought-out and focuses on policy distribution, scaling
It’s from Tasks at Microsoft: Creating a Coherent Ecosystem (BRK1011) from Microsoft Ignite: “Find our about the exciting new initiative helping you find your tasks where you need them, regardless of where you captured them.”
@maryjofoley In the middle of last week’s show I heard you were looking for one chart with all of Microsoft’s task apps, I found this a few weeks ago from a presentation 4 months ago: https://t.co/QnfD4ViL4a
Just discovered Kui, a graphical terminal optimized for running Kubernetes commands. For a more complete video demo, have a look at https://t.co/L2EFgMrENl
TypeScript 3.9 was just released with new helpful error messages and performance improvements. There are minor breaking changes to it. Read the release notes for all the details on what’s new! https://t.co/C4q0LJlmG2
An experimental replacement for Python data classes where the code included is shorter and easier to read than the readme itself ;-) https://t.co/dPMskPGlgc
I hadn’t realized how much a difference fonts would make. Add some dithering with a restricted “web safe” colour palette and we’re on to something here! ;-) https://t.co/xuFhKD3Gry
From last year, but a great talk on the intricacies of Python’s async/await with the example of adding async/await support to the Django web framework. https://t.co/rG4H41CPLl
GitHub Writer also just went open source - It’s the WYSIWYG Rich-Text Editor for GitHub, powered by CKEditor. https://t.co/CJAchTmkGo
I’ll admit, I’ve yet to find a rich text editor I like with no misgivings or gotchas. We’ll see how this one develops ;-)
