"𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞."
That was the key message shared by 𝐓𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐊𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐚, 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐨𝐤𝐨𝐭, during our recent SAFE-MIT offline testing session.
Reflecting on the engagement, Toroitich appreciated the valuable insights he gained from the session, noting that access to credible information is essential in helping young people make informed migration decisions.
Drawing from his own experience, he shared how he once migrated irregularly to neighbouring Uganda without following the proper procedures. The experience exposed him to significant challenges, including witnessing some of his friends being arrested and detained for extended periods. His story serves as a reminder that irregular migration can have serious consequences for individuals and their families.
Toroitich now encourages fellow young people to follow the correct procedures for regular migration, seek information from trusted sources, and make informed decisions before pursuing opportunities across borders.
At The Youth Café, we believe that lived experiences are powerful tools for learning. By creating spaces where young people can share their stories, we are helping build greater awareness of the risks associated with irregular migration while promoting safe, regular, and informed migration pathways.
Watch Toroitich's story and hear why choosing the right pathway matters.

Around 80% cases of cervical cancer are diagnosed at advanced stages ( stage III or IV), which drastically reduces survival rates and is the primary driver of mortality (https://t.co/d7WMGiSugU)
This translates to an estimated 3,686 deaths per year attributable to late detection. Screen today, vaccinate and eliminate cervical cancer.

As elections draw near @SarahBireete remains unjustly detained. This is an attack on justice & democracy.
Her courage in advocating for human rights should not put her in chains. Political imprisonment has no place in a free society.
