We had a couple in our church in a similar situation, just no kids and a little older. They been visiting regularly and became convicted that they were living in sin. Talked to the pastor after church one Sunday, got married after the service the next Sunday. Remained faithfully married until his death.
We have a pretty structured premarital counseling/mentoring program that takes at least 3-4 months to walk through. I don’t know the details, but we made some accommodations for them.
@DynaheirRules@Hebrews12v2 They are around. We have more than one in our town of less that 35,000. My doc is part of a larger group that has offices in several East Texas towns. We don’t have any issues getting in. Hopefully you can find a good one.
I always thought that a straight 10% with no deductions would be fair. Clearly businesses would still need to be able to write off expenses, as some operate below a 10% margin, but a simple tax code that everyone could understand would be much better. If the government can’t fund itself off of 10% of personal revenue, then it’s too big.
Pretty normal in Texas. I was in 2nd grade when I got my own 22LR, first deer rifle in 3rd grade. I bought my oldest a 22LR/22WMR pistol when he was born to give to him on his 13th birthday. I’m shopping for a 22 for my 3rd child this week for his 13th birthday. Let’s just say that in rural Texas there are more guns than people in an average household.
@shaunvlog_ If you had it for dinner, you’d get mashed potatoes, purple hull peas and cornbread. What might be even better than CFS, is fried venison backstrap, but you’ll have to go to someone’s house for that.
@FreddyLA7 Once you leave Houston, drive a few hours north on Highway 59 to Nacogdoches (the oldest town in Texas) and it changes again. Come try out my buddy Brendyn’s BBQ, a Texas Monthly too 50 BBQ. Rolling hills and pine trees.
First of all, I am not Catholic, I have four kids, I believe life begins at conception, and I don’t believe that hormonal birth control is acceptable for believers, due to the potential of aborting a fertilized egg. By the logic presented to you, i.e. sex must be open to life, it would be a sin to have sex within marriage for at least 21 days of the wife’s cycle, perhaps as much as 25 days. I say that because the actual window for conception is pretty small, so any other time would not be open to life. This position does not seem to agree with Paul in 1 Corinthians 7, where he says not to deprive one another so that you may not be tempted. This adds another purpose to sex within marriage besides procreation. What about post menopausal sexual relations? What about those who are unable to conceive for some reason? Our bodies are uniquely designed amongst all creation for pleasure in sex (think “does not nature teach”), and that is celebrated in Song of Solomon. Even back in Genesis it says that the two should become one flesh. I believe in the authority of the church (elders, bishops) and the husband. I am not advocating disobedience to either, but scripture is our highest authority. We see in Acts 17 that the Bereans were commended for searching the scriptures daily to see if what the Apostle Paul said was true. Even Daniel disobeyed the authority placed by God over him when it disagreed with God’s commandment. I wish you well in your journey of understanding the depths of the Word and commend you for asking deeper questions.
Don’t forget about Lyme and other tick borne illnesses. I struggled with low energy for years and found out the reason recently. Made a world of difference. Find a good functional doctor who will look for the root cause and not just write you a prescription that will cause other issues
@edgaralandough 3 You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.
4 Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock.
Isaiah 26:3-4
I’m in East Texas, which would not quality, and I’m pretty sure I’ve never had one attached for 36 hours. Never had a rash, bullseye or otherwise. I grew up in the wood and have been a land surveyor for 25 years, so I’ve had plenty of tick bites. I was recently diagnosed with Lyme and Babesiosis. These guidelines need to be updated, as most people and doctors dismiss the possibility without these criteria being met. Thankfully we recently switched to a functional medicine MD or else I would likely have never been diagnosed.
@KenPaxtonTX When you get to the Senate, how about a constitutional amendment that says you cannot donate to a candidate if you are not eligible to vote for them.
@ScotsFyre@realalexclark@joerogan A better option is not being able to vote in state and local elections for some time period, maybe 10 years. That and a constitutional amendment that says you cannot donate to someone you can’t vote for. That would fix a lot.
