Many today have had their minds captured and bewitched by the enemy. If it can happen to Christians imagine those without Christ.

It is spiritual deception. The enemy comes to kill, steal, destroy and is a deceiver.

Their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.

The original post has done more to reveal the many judgemental hateful hearted "Christians" like no other.
Christians used to want to see people like her saved and transformed. Do we no longer seek to save sinners or do we share the gospel and then expose them to ridicule once we decide they are not Christian enough or act like we expect them to. 🤔

I did not miss anything. I just don't think it is a big deal to harp on. Truth is some are more holy than others and some are more wretched than others and their past does not always determine this. Being a virgin does not guarantee or is equated with automatically being more holy than others.
Just like some come from amazing privileged Christian households and descend into wretched living and others from broken corrupt sin filled households and go on to live holy God honoring lives. Our past does not always determine our future.
Are there ideals, yes! Better to never descend into sinful living. No one is arguing this. Who wants their daughter or son to become a reprobate.
The most amazing and beautiful thing in the world is that in Christ we can (and all do) start rotten and end holy. 🙌

Many of us did not interpret that as physical purity, and I will give him the benefit of the doubt.
If they indeed do have any wrong motives, that is between them and the Lord.
Their story was one of redemption and for many of us we praised the Lord and rejoiced when we read it.

I do not see anyone acting like they are better Christians. I have found many people on X who resist or have negative comments about this story often come across as the older brother in Luke 15. Not sure why this story tweaks people. As Christians we should rejoice when someone has been born again.
As Jon said, Christ is laudable for taking guilt, sin and shame.
I will celebrate the transformation of those who are outwardly evil, and those who are inwardly prideful and self righteous all the same because Christ is glorified.

People on X seem to be upset over people with sinful pasts getting saved like somehow they got the best of both worlds. What a stupid thing to think.
Are these folks envious they did not get to trash their life with sinful living before getting saved? Sounds like it. Or are they just like the older brother in Luke 15.
News flash, living a life of sin is painful with lifelong consequences, regrets, and memories that haunt us.
If we could do life over we would not have made the horrible decisions that led to a life of reprobate living. But, we cannot go back. We do not look back at our life as fun or think we got away with sin. We grieve deeply over the life we wasted and the pain we caused others and the Lord. We often live with a lifetime of shame.
Being deceived and falling for Satan's lies is not something to be proud of. We fell for the lie that life could be had apart from Christ and fully indulged in what the world offered us thinking it would bring happiness. Instead it bought us spiritual and emotional death.
But God, being rich in mercy forgave us and gave us the gift of eternal life in Christ Jesus.
I will never get over the gift of salvation in my life. I deserved none of it, and no one can take this from me.
