Filmmaker David Lynch's Diagram for Transcendental Consciousness is one of the greatest, easiest to understand explanations for how our reality is made of MIND first, MATTER second.
I promise this is genuinely worth your time.
It's fantastic.
“So we can’t put more money into nurse’s pockets… but we can put more money into really rich banker’s pockets”
Sayeeda Warsi finds it “shocking” the government didn’t offer rise to nurses over inflation fears yet scrapped cap on bankers’ bonuses

Gaza’s hospitals - filled with critically injured children - are being cut off from power, food, water, and aid.
Meanwhile, the bombs rain down.
This is backed by the Tories and the Labour Party.
We’re watching the West give its full complicity to a bloody, savage war crime.
104: the number of schools that will close as they are unsafe
£9.2 billion: the NHS's maintenance backlog
2 out of 1,500: rivers in England safe to swim in

ALIEN was released 44 years ago today. One of the definitive science fiction/horror movies, its influence is still seen to this day. The behind-the-scenes story of how the film was made is a fascinating one...
A THREAD
1/38
For those who don't fully understand what is up with the NHS, here is a thread for you that might help.
I'm a consultant physician working as a doctor in the NHS in Yorkshire and Wales for 32 years now. I have experienced the NHS at its best (2008) and its worst (2022).
For many years I have been posting little observations on here. What you may not know is that for many years, artists have been illustrating them - for no reason other than they wanted to respond. Below is a thread of some of these beautiful drawings, because they should be seen:
Sunak’s record is £1,040pa taken from universal benefits; £400pa taken from pensioners; raised taxes for workers; student debt up to £100k; a tax break for bankers of £7bl; a £200ml energy subsidy for second home owners; £28ml spent celebrating 70 years of hereditary privilege.
They didn’t resign over Covid deaths.
They didn’t resign over benefit cuts.
They didn’t resign over Partygate.
They didn’t resign over PPE.
They didn’t resign over Brexit failure.
They didn’t resign over deporting refugees.
Spare us the praise for the ‘good’ Tories.
Skibadee was your favourite MC’s favourite MC’s favourite MC.
I think he was the first person I ever heard MC, and I’m sure that would be the same for a lot of people my age.
Can’t underestimate the foundations that guy built for everything we’ve had since then.
Taking your music off Spotify but leaving it up on YouTube (who pay an even worse royalty rate, without getting started on how damaging the recommendations algorithm is to humanity as a whole) is... well let's just say it's a bit inconsistent.
