I will never forget this day for as long as I live.
When a massive explosion struck just seven meters away from me, at the “Thai Café” in the heart of Gaza, claiming the lives of forty martyrs. It was not my fate to be among them, though I stood so close to death.

In the first moments, I fell to my knees on the ground, my trembling hands searching my body to see if shrapnel had pierced me. But the thick smoke blinded my sight. I emerged from the haze, my body covered in dust, my eyes desperately searching for survival amidst the chaos.

I looked around and saw the martyrs scattered on the ground, silent bodies telling the story of death. I tried to save some of the wounded, but none survived. Among them was a young boy selling coffee to support his family. shrapnel struck his head and took his life instantly. Nearby, a hungry little girl sat in front of a small plate of food, waiting to eat. The missile killed her as she sat in the chair, leaving the food soaked in blood.

The air was filled with the smell of blood, and I felt as though the entire place was suffocating in heavy silence. A scene that will never fade from memory, and wounds that will never heal.
