@jesushlebowski@ZiaYusufUK Individuals donate to parties with policies they prefer. How is that not democratic? It's not like Labour and Tories where donors get honours and government contracts.
@MaxFRobespierre If Argentina had a communist in charge, Trump would back the UK and the EU would back Argentina. Neither of them care about UK interests.

Britainβs biggest problem is too much Government. And their answer to everythingβ¦ is MORE government
@Con_Tomlinson Britain should be a safe haven for the dissidents of oppressive European regimes, but first we need to make it a safe haven for the British.
In respect of the cost to build, everything is against it.
- Minimum wage pushing up base prices.
- Employer national insurance hikes
- Material inflation (steel, aluminium, brickwork, concrete etc.)
- Energy prices skyrocketing (affects material costs)
- Shortages of bricklayers and a number of trades too, which means that they can pick and choose jobs, hiking prices.
- MEP prices are high.
- Building regulations have got ridiculous, with push towards net zero bringing in such a high baseline of u-values and airtightness that insulation prices have rocketed (there are only particular specs that can be used, rocketing demand, and prices).
- Site investigations to check for badgers and bats and biodiversity constraints. You even need to have a biodiversity consultant for derelict land. As some say 'to count the rats'.
It all adds up...
We have choked the industry to death and now inescapable market forces are upon us.
People want to build, people want to buy. The market does not allow it. It's dysfunctional.
Who is to blame.......?
@JamesPGoddard90 Does this mean that anyone who moves house in the UK has a right to have their extended family moved in near them or does this right only apply to foreign citizens?
