One hand hovered near her uninjured side, cautiously guiding her forward at an easy pace. The other clutched the grip of his own weapon, restless eyes never staying in one spot for too long.
“We’re gettin’ out of this, Elizabeth. Just stay with me.”
The injury made things complicated, not to mention the fact that she was inebriated on top of it. Looking toward the corridor ahead — dark and shadowy, due the building’s lack of electricity — Carlos finally gave a decisive nod.
“Yeah, alright. I’ll take point, c’mon.” +
"No no...we get outta here...medics take care of us..let's go."
She looked around, picking her pocket knife from her back pocket.
"Come on...we can't stay here Carlos..."
Giving orders? Not her favourite but now it seemed necessary.
Exhaling a half-hearted chuckle, Carlos extended an arm toward the stranger, offering the sealed can.
“All yours… Haven’t even opened it.”
It seemed as though he needed it more, anyway. Or, maybe, the specialist shouldn’t have encouraged what was an obvious addiction. +
“Just about every damn day I have one of those. It's my motivation at this point to get out of bed… Among other things.”
A grin came across his face as he continued to eye the drink before finally looking up.
“Haven't seen you around before. You new here?”
As respectfully as possible, Carlos worked with haste, stripping the woman of her jacket in favor of harnessing her arm in the makeshift sling.
“We won’t die, not on my watch.”
Thick brows furrowed, he shook his head.
“I’m not trained for that… maybe one of my guys can help.”
"Help me take the jacket off...we make a makeshift sling to elevate it.."
for once she let someone help her get outta something. Making an sling to put around her arm.
It was bad. They had to get out of there as quickly as possible.
"Were going to die in here if we don't -
Plump tiers pursed a thin line, his gaze scanning the surroundings for any movement before he met Elizabeth’s eyes again.
“Either way, you need to keep it elevated, it’s swelling fast. Just take it easy, I’m not goin’ anywhere.”
Without thinking, he stepped closer, gloved digits suspended in a hover just short of touching the injury.
“Lucky it wasn’t worse,” Carefully, Carlos turned her arm to check its flexibility, eyes occasionally flicking to her face in case of any reaction. “Doesn’t seem broken.” +
"My arm...I fell before I got here...it's hard to move without it starting to sting like hell.."
She walked over. Tearing her jacket down a little. It was bruised. Perhaps even broken.
"I fell 2 feet...that's all. No pain elsewhere...no bitemarks.."
