@WWiioverlays In actual fact, there was no official 'Operation Deadstick' on D-Day. 6th Airborne arrived into France on 5/6th June under Op Tonga and then the evening of the 6th under Op Mallard.

Intrigued by @SWright58's comments about the famous Pegasus and Horsa bridges on D-Day, and the accuracy of the name "Operation Deadstick", I've looked at a few logs and war diaries. I agree I'm not seeing much evidence for it... 📷IWM B5288 1/9

This shows the target landing location used for the training of the Horsa pilots of the Coup de Main party to capture Pegasus Bridge & Horsa Bridge. This specific glider training was performed under the title 'Deadstick'. The location is Holmes Clump near Netheravon Airfield.
