If you ever had a “move back in with your parents” stage, you have no business judging homeless people. The only difference between you and them is you were privileged enough to have a fallback.
I will never get over how weird it feels to have tragic and emotional chapters of your life where you just also still go to work, and go food shopping, and see funny videos all while feeling such paralyzing fear and heartache lol
on my 26th birthday, i wrote I Took A Pill in Ibiza…10 years ago. The song became popular several years after i wrote it. Yesterday i celebrated my 36th birthday. i feel proud to look at the song lyrics and know that NONE of them are true anymore. I’ve grown into a completely new man…one that i’m proud of. check this out… 🧵
But if you’re ‘creating the life you want’ because you’re indirectly feeding off the lack of opportunities that others have, whilst claiming that it is all about ‘manifestation’ & ‘gratitude’
then that is ignorance
I get the angle. I get that it gives hope to ppl who *do* have greater opportunity TO build a new life. But shilling ‘self-made’ ‘spiritual’ products whilst living in a place made affordable bc of other human beings that lack opportunity, without regard for their hard work, sucks
I’m in Bali (!) and here the spiritual/life coaches preach: “you can create any life you want”
whilst parading around on a gentrified island where locals are paid $200 a month to build the life the coaches ‘created’
I can’t buy into it anymore. It sounds ignorant & entitled. +
(don’t get me wrong, I still believe manifestation & gratitude are important practices for inner fulfillment, & can magnetize opportunities to an extent
HOWEVER. I don’t believe it should be used as personal marketing when all some1’s done is move to a country w/ cheaper living)
I think to be free is not being afraid of being seen as cringe or pathetic. the only judge you must face at the end of the day is yourself and if they're the most critical you'll never escape your own mental prison. it's okay to be flawed and still be happy lol :p
i find it hilarious when i see people telling south indians to "just learn hindi, it's not that hard!" but their native language literally stems from the same language group as hindi, whilst south indian languages belong to a completely diff language group
