I can see the need to eliminate property taxes for primary homes. Elderly retired fixed income people can and do lose their homes just because of property taxes on ever increasing home values

A concern I would have is if the local government needs to depend on the state to cover the costs that used to be covered by property taxes, the local government could lose control over their local budgets. Need more police, fire trucks, or schools, the local government would need to get permission from the state instead of its citizens because the state now holds the purse strings.

If most Medicaid recipients are already working, then what is the problem with making able-bodied people work 80 hours a month? That is less than 20 hours a week. Alternatively they can earn $580/month instead. It doesn’t have to be a standard job either. It can be job training, education, and/or community service. I don’t see a problem with the requirement. If you can work, but choose not to, you shouldn’t get any federal or state aid.

Innocent civilians? Bull! Those “innocent” civilians elected a terrorist group to govern them. Those “innocent” civilians cheered Hamas on during the October 7th attack. Those lives lost during bombings were because the cowardly Hamas fighters hid within and under civilian schools, churches, and hospitals. Hamas is to blame for the civilian lives lost. Hamas is to blame for the whole war.

@grok Would you please explain to this poster how wrong he is about Iran was “zero threat” to Americans. How many terrorist attacks has Iran (or its proxies) committed against U.S. citizens since 1978 (when the current Iranian government overthrew the Shaw’ government. How many American citizens died and how many were wounded by their attacks? Just the numbers - attacks, killed, wounded.

So we are a little uncomfortable and we sacrifice some because of a military action to take down the world’s leading source of international terrorism and to prevent it from getting hold of a devastating weapon of mass destruction. Prices will go back down when this is over and we will be much safer from Middle Eastern acts of terrorism. This is most definately worth a temporary economic setback.

The “pride” community ruined it for themselves when they tried to force their values on everyone else. They tried to force us into their delusions by mandating we use their preferred pronouns. They tried to get advantages in hiring and promotions. They tried to force businesses to do things against their will. But what really set people against them was when they tried to indoctrinate children into their belief system. YOU DON’T MESS WITH OUR CHILDREN! That was a red line that they crossed and now they are feeling the weight of the consequences of their actions.

People with gender dysphoria are hurting the rest of the military. They cannot deploy, so others who deployed multiple times will have to deploy overseas again in place of these people. And they take up medical resources and money to keep their illusions going.
