This doesn't sound right:

Here's my Christmas gift to you - yet another post on Swedish and Finnish rifles. Calibre wars, interim buys, scheming politicians, and straight-talking Home Guardsmen. What more could you ask for? Merry Christmas to you all!😎

@RealCynicalFox Good bit of trivia:
The RR BR725 (F-130) turbojet is manufactured in Dahlewitz, Germany. When the B-52 first flew Dahlewitz was part of East Germany, a country that was then 3 years old. When the B-52 project started Dahlewitz was in the Soviet Occupation Zone.
@radionz why do you use misleading headlines?
Jordan O'Brien is not a mercenary in normal usage of the word or under international law. You use quotation marks in the body of the article so why not in the headline?
@AeroPaleo@Hush_Kit I thought this would be a thread on the relatively free availability of mind altering substances in the 1960s.
It's probably worth mentioning you can't stagger side-by-side engines due to voodoo magic, or as flight dynamicists call it, inertial coupling.
@simonharley HM Pansarbåt Manligheten - entirely for the name (HM Armoured Boat Manliness).
Note that the English article on Wikipedia has some errors - the hull wasn't scrapped until 2015 and it was never an HMS (or HSwMS as Wikipedia insists on rendering it).

@AlexLuck9@Matt_Shea74 Radar / mast setup looks very sparse, civil nav radar, what is probably an ATC radar under the dome and the usual civil V/UHF and some satcom.
I'm double commenting on this; since there's a significant angle which I don't think anyone has grasped yet.
We're going to see more, and better footage come out shortly of this. That footage is going to be used all over the world to justify ABM systems.
It was possible for ABM to remain "theoretical", "destablizing", and "escalatory" in political debates and discussions as long as re-entry vehicles streaking out of the sky towards their targets was something out of moderately bad apocalyptic fiction.
Now? It's real. The public will demand to be protected against such events.
Donald Trump is now likely to resume construction of a heavy ABM system in Poland (GBI) utilizing the new next-generation interceptor under development, which will be accelerated; along with accelerating the Multi-Kill Vehicle program to re-equip present day interceptors, instead of waiting for it to enter service with the NGI.

@czechnologist75 @Jordan_W_Taylor The Beech 1900D is a good study in how to design a whole plane from afterthoughts. I remember a professor having us work out the control problems the plane had based on the fixes (hint, it's not a good plane)
