What the Football is the only NFL podcast I listen to, absolute podcast gold. @AmyTrask and Suzy are just delightful. Missed it in my rotation in the offseason. Very happy it’s back.
@maxrushden@guardian_sport Has Gareth gone too far the other way? The squad is too exciting. Do we need Hendo back so we can all be reassured that it’s going to go tits up and we don’t have to stress about whether we’ll win it. Will he do the same in matches and Pep it up?
@PFF_Sam Potential situation comp is Favre. His trade value likely appreciates over the course of the next year especially is he has any opportunity to flash his talent in relief. Underrated move.
Sorry two kids, no sleep and just tired of the fucking moaning because no one knows if anyone could get more out of the team, but Gareth is getting more out of them then we’ve seen someone get out of an England squad in my lifetime.
@maxrushden I know you probably dont want to talk about England again but what is it with this nonsense about this team being such high quality? We weren’t all delusional about the quality of the golden generation, in a combined XI it’d still skew to them.
Could Southgate have done better? Yes. Has anyone else done better for England? Alf Ramsey, it’s a short fucking list. Since Gareth took his role, how many international managers have outperformed him. Two? Deschamps, Scaloni. Who both have absolute worldies.
@KevinCole___@JRB_FF Would a team draft an early QB without them having met the owner? So when that happens isn’t overly meaningful. Second if you’ve got an active owner, their buy in on big decisions is how you get that long leash, surely? Just saying I can buy the logic of his involvement
@JRB_FF@KevinCole___ No potential GM has as long a leash as an owner. See; Jerry Jones; Al Davis. If you’re looking at a potential 15 year relationship the one position you’d want an owner bought in on is QB1. When you do that though 🤷♂️
@3FitzSLC@KevinCole___ In fairness that’s pretty true to the history of the use of Real in Spain. They thought it was good marketing. Although my Brit tendency would be to ask why you wouldn’t go to La Real rather than Los Blancos - it’s pretty obvious though
@KevinCole___ Haha, no I suppose not but wouldn’t shock me if Becks et al thought about the history in context. I don’t think Real Salt Lake or any of the Uniteds did.
