"You could do well smiling more. It fits you well brother." Savage made a small groan as he stood, his form looming over Maul as he leaned forward placing his forehead against the other's
"I will not be ripped away from you, nor will I allow anything to harm you ever again."
Savage felt himself lean into the alien yet welcomed touch of Mauls hand. Closing his eyes for a moment letting this moment sink in..
"You are no longer what they created you brother. You were created to be a monster that they wanted you to be.. I will not lose you again." —
Maul went still.
The words should have pleased him.
Once, they would have. . .
Once, he would have heard loyalty in them and taken it without question.
Now they only made something inside him twist.
His hand remained on Savage’s shoulder, but the grip loosened.
“𝐵𝑒𝑠𝑖𝑑𝑒 𝑚𝑒 . . .”
Maul repeated the words quietly, his eyes lowering for a moment.
Then his jaw tightened.
“No.”
The refusal came too quickly.
Too sharply.
He looked back at Savage before the word could wound more deeply than he intended.
“Not as you were before.”
His fingers curled against his brother’s shoulder.
“I asked too much of you.”
The admission tasted bitter.
“You followed me into a war that was mine long before it was yours. You bled for my hatred. You suffered for 𝑚𝑦 revenge.”
His gaze dropped toward Savage’s prosthetic hand.
Maul stared at it longer than he should have.
“And I called that 𝑏𝑟𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟ℎ𝑜𝑜𝑑.”
There was disgust in his voice now, but none of it was meant for Savage.
“I thought if I could make Kenobi suffer 𝑒𝑛𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ, if I could destroy enough of what Sidious had built, then perhaps everything done to me would mean something.”
A humorless breath escaped him.
“Instead, I nearly destroyed the only family I had left.”
His eyes lifted again.
“I believed you dead.”
The words came quieter.
“For years.”
His hand moved from Savage’s shoulder to the side of his neck, firm and grounding, as though Maul still needed proof that he was truly there.
“And every time I thought of you, I remembered that you died following me.”
His brow furrowed.
“I will not make that mistake again.”
Maul stepped closer.
“If you stand beside me, Savage, then you do so as my brother.”
𝑁𝑜𝑡 𝑎 𝑤𝑒𝑎𝑝𝑜𝑛.
𝑁𝑜𝑡 𝑎𝑛 𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑐𝑒.
Not another body offered to Maul’s vengeance.
“𝐌𝐲 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥.”
His thumb shifted once against Savage’s skin.
“And should my hatred begin to consume me again…”
A faint, grim smile touched his mouth.
“…you will drag me back from it.”
His eyes remained fixed on Savage.
“I have already lost you once to my revenge.”
His voice dropped almost to a whisper.
“I will not lose you to it again.”
Savage opened his eyes once more to look into his brothers. All he could see was a burring star in his eyes, engulfed in a blaze of pain. "You will never be alone again if I am able to help it."
He smiled softly at the crimson figure before him. A soft sigh escaping him. —
// I’m so happy to be here. I am still VERY new to Star Wars but I am absolutely adoring being here with everyone I’ve meet so far and getting the honor of writing with you all everyone is so talented UUUWAHH
There was no venom in his voice but it was much colder than he meant it to be coming out of him. Who was this man who thought that they should meet face to face.. What did they know about him.
causing the liquid to shimmer in the low light. This was nice.. The mention of a man without a name, just an ominous word.
Savage's eyes flicked up to the woman before him once more, this time his brows furrowed the tattoos adorning his face contorting in such a way.
"Who."—
"The Crimson Dawn?" He echoed once more this time, questioning her without looking for an actual answer.
"Yes. A hopeful look on this meeting. It has been far too long since last I met anyone with such kindness." He swirled the glass in his hand a bit —
The words cut the way she holds herself before him. She was confident, calculated.. It was interesting to him. He had not met many people not new ones at least.
"Kindness.." He repeated it back more or less to himself. A word he had not heard in so long. —
Folding her hands at her lap, light glinting off the silver rings adorning her fingers, she looks on him with purpose.
"𝘏𝘦 thought it best we meet face to face."
