Paula González-Nasser's directorial debut THE SCOUT has been acquired for worldwide rights by @Greenwich_Films. Matt Delman (@ItsTheRealDel) called it "a film so effortlessly sublime that you’ll want to live in it." Read his review from Tribeca 2025: https://t.co/qMxumSqZub

#Tribeca2025: If you’ve ever wondered about the massive support structure needed for film/TV, #TheScout follows 1 day in the life of Sofia, a location scout hustling across the boroughs of NYC. Seeing into these beautiful city homes isn’t all gorgeous decor and stunning brickwork - the challenges of connecting with homeowners in order to film in their homes, clashes with many personalities higher up the production ladder there that make her work a nightmare. There’s no doubt personal experience inspired this story, and it’s one worth watching for a surprising look into a side of cinema that most never consider. Especially for the stunning shots in and around NYC.

Paula Andrea González-Nasser's #TheScout hilariously shines a light on the unsung hero of film sets. A fresh, funny take! Check out the Tribeca review for more.

THE SCOUT: Not the Brendan Fraser/Albert Brooks one. More like THE ASSISTANT meets Hong Sang-soo? It finally happened: I watched enough Hong Sang-soo movies at NYFF that I said "getting some Hong Sang-soo vibes from this" about an American indie. #Tribeca2025
paula gonzález-nasser’s THE SCOUT is terrific, and among the best films i’ve seen at #tribeca this year. (if not the best, full stop.) intelligent, ethereal, and distinctly informed. hard to believe it’s a directorial debut.

THE SCOUT: Paula González-Nasser’s fantastic feature debut is a major discovery which feels less constructed than it does conjured out of the quietly authentic experiences of modern life and work most others overlook

"Its power comes from its exploration of identity & how the search to understand oneself is constantly evolving."

Paula González-Nasser, of the NYC ultra-low-budget production company, @5thfloorpics, talks to @nataliakeogan about her Akerman-inspired picture about NYC location scouts. (Plenty of resonant moments for anyone who's worked on a film set.) https://t.co/Qlw7TZE86k
Kicking off #Tribeca 2025 with THE SCOUT which follows Sofia (an excellent Mimi Davila) as she drives around the boroughs meeting with random people to take photos of their apartments for a TV series. Warmly funny and sweet, director Paula Gonzalez-Nasser references Chantal Akerman but THE SCOUT also reminded me of Jafar Panahi’s TAXI.
"The Scout" is about a location scout's exhausting workday—the film itself is the opposite of a drag. It's a love letter to the everyday strangeness of the average New Yorker, in turns unsettling, achingly lonely, and laugh-out-loud funny.

Plenty of flashy star vehicles and band documentaries are coming to Tribeca 2025, but these are some of the movies actually worth paying attention to:
