@TheGodlyNoob I'd expect a Collegiate, online, or T3/4 team to use DMA, but not pros in an event. DMA cheats require a second system running it's own software to be effective.

@HaanSoloR6 It appears as though I spoke in haste; it appears as though this is an area of interest to security researchers. There are ways to prevent DMA attacks though they may not work universally across all hardware, and may require cryptic instructions in some circumstances.

@HaanSoloR6 How companies counter it all depends on how it appears to your UEFI firmware. There's a list of PCIe vendor devices, and if it appears anywhere in ACPI in charge of enumerating said devices, then there's a chance the game can refuse to play or mark you as a potential cheater.

@ryocryte @trichotome ARs and SMGs are an over saturated class, so adding another one that's balanced without gimmicks like destruction or ammo cap can be less impactful than expected. DMRs and pistols are kind of a dead end as well.

@UbisoftSupport R6S crashes a lot on operator select w/ no way of reporting it. Reconnecting to standard is impossible afterwards with error 4-0xFFF0BE25. Updated drivers, reinstalled Siege/UC, verified files 2x, updated Windows. Still happens.

The world is moving on except you. Linux is free, has more users on Steam than Win7, and can play many DX12 capable games via Proton, provided that your GPU is Vulkan capable.
