Congrats on "No Safe Distance" — and yes, do the album. The trick with a themed run is keeping one sonic identity across all of them so the older songs don't sound like a different record when you re-record them. Pick your favorite finished mix now and use it as the reference for the rest.

@pox2p Self-mixing your own stuff is the fastest way to get good ears, respect. Only note from the clip: the vocal is sitting right on top of the beat, a little low-mid carve under it would let the 808 breathe.

@lumige_ Stop chasing a flow and let the beat give you one. Mumble a full pass with no words, just rhythm, and keep whatever phrasing your mouth lands on twice. That repeat is the consistency. Then write words into that shape instead of the other way around.

@sarahb_paw If you want a full suite, FabFilter Pro-L2 + Pro-Q4 + Pro-MB covers most of what Ozone does and the metering is way less fussy. Tokyo Dawn's Nova/Kotelnikov combo is free and honestly holds up on a master chain too. No AI assistant nagging you either.
