I’ve engaged in a lot of arguments about rent and rent control and landlords over the years and the main takeaway is that leftists aren’t interested in having an argument, really — it’s just naked contempt. That hate landlords. They hate business owners.

They don’t understand them, identify with them. They don’t see anything from their point of view.

And they have no interest in trying.

The thing that they really want to say is simply, “I hate you and I don’t care about what happens to you. If bad things happened to you, that would be fine.”

Transgenderism is an uncontrolled society-scaled experiment in conformity and obedience: a test of how far you can make people parrot absurdities, inflict cruelties, collude with unrealities, and ostracize and punish people for things they do not themselves believe.

It is a test of whether the moral self-abasements and routine betrayals that occurred in the Soviet Bloc with its secret police and political prisons and armies of informants could be replicated in liberal, democratic, and pluralistic societies that lacked this formal apparatus of repression: whether minor rewards and punishments could force people to punish people for stating the most self-evident of all truths and inspire them to cheer on the chemical castration and dismemberment of their own children. It is a test of whether civil liberties organization could be twisted into instruments of state repression and human rights groups instruments of defamation and violence against women.

It is a test that most of the Western world is failing.

After which, Brooklyn Tech, the largest of the SHS was majority Black and Hispanic, AND Stuyvesant had over 300 Black students in 1975. Fast forward, the schools are now majority Asian, many from immigrant, low-income families. So the "intention" in 1971 was to open these schools for POCs? Pretty amazing.

We told anyone who disagreed with these extraordinary, self-evidently false claims that they were failing at the minimum necessary requirements for membership in the human family and that anything that happened to them -- ostracism, the loss of their livelihoods, the loss of their right to speak or transact, ruinous financial penalties by state entities -- as a result of their transgression of this most basic human requirement was just and deserved and salutary.

Personally I’m not a fan of low-income minorities placed into these elite private schools. Just as I’m not comfortable moving into upper middle class LI suburbs. The vibe is totally different than NYC’s specialized high schools where majority of the students come from immigrant families and half are low-income. Walking the halls of Bx Sci and Stuy (personal experience), you see how truly diverse these schools are racially, culturally and socioeconomically. To know that your classmates got there the same way you did, by taking the SHSAT means a lot. When I speak to Black and Hispanic alums, it’s the one thing they are most proud of — earning a seat at these schools.
