I’m heartbroken to be posting this message. Yesterday morning, our beautiful, amazing, loveable happy Bryher Beagle, two weeks short of her 11th birthday, wagged her tail for the last time on earth, but not the last time in our hearts 🌈🐞❤️
A group of us went out to celebrate a friend’s 25th birthday. There were eight people at the table.
Before we ordered, I made my situation clear.
I said, “I’m trying to save for a house down payment right now, so I’m only getting an appetizer and a soda. Can we do separate checks?”
A few people laughed, and the birthday girl said, “Don’t worry about it. We’ll just split the bill evenly at the end.”
I wasn’t thrilled about the idea, but I didn’t want to start an argument before dinner.
As the night went on, several people ordered expensive steaks, cocktails, and desserts. The birthday girl and her boyfriend also ordered two bottles of wine that cost more than what I planned to spend all week.
Meanwhile, I stuck to exactly what I said I would order: one appetizer and a soda.
When the bill arrived, it came to around $900.
Someone quickly did the math and announced, “Looks like it’s about $112 per person.”
I looked at the receipt and said, “That doesn’t work for me. My food was about $22. I’ll pay for what I ordered, plus tip.”
The birthday girl got upset and said I was being cheap and making things awkward.
I didn’t argue.
I got up, walked over to the manager, asked for my individual items, paid my portion with a tip, wished everyone a good night, and left.
Later, my phone was full of messages. Apparently, everyone else had to cover the difference, and some people were angry that the final amount per person ended up being higher than expected.
A few friends said I should have just paid the extra money to keep the peace.
Maybe.
But I don't think it's reasonable to expect someone who ordered the least at the table to help fund everyone else's expensive choices.
I went out for dinner, not to subsidize someone else's luxury bill.
🚨Darwin Nunez on Liverpool Fans wanting the club to bring him back at the club.
🗣️“I saw everything on the internet and then I realized how loved I’m at the club, feels like it wasn’t the right time to leave the club, I miss the amazing atmosphere at Anfield cheering up my name, there’s nothing better than this place and it’s feeling.
Honestly I will like to be back and play in front of this lovely club and fans again, I made a wrong choice by joining the wrong club that led me down for a whole season, I never imagined that would happen in my career but then I just have to take it in cause I have no choice.”
🗣️ Nunez: "I would be lying to you if I told you I don’t miss the Liverpool supporters. They made me and my family feel good, specially when I was going through a rough time, I obviously miss LFC, I miss them a lot."
When he was with Liverpool, Origi started a partnership with the University of Liverpool to offer the “Divock Origi Scholarship” to one student to cover their full tuition and £3,000 worth of living costs.
Even when he left for Milan, he kept it going. What an absolute man.
Jürgen Klopp on Divock Origi retiring from professional football:
🗣️ “When people talk about great Liverpool players, they often talk about the biggest names, the Ballon d'Or winners, the captains and the superstars who played every single week.
But Divock Origi was different. He created a legacy in a completely different way and became one of the most loved players this club has ever had.
He had a special gift for appearing exactly when Liverpool needed him most and turning impossible moments into unforgettable memories. Somehow, whenever the pressure was at its highest, Divock found a way to make something extraordinary happen.
The goals against Barcelona, the goals against Everton, the Champions League moments — these are not just goals. These are pieces of Liverpool history that supporters will remember for the rest of their lives.
What made Divock special was not just his quality, but his mentality. In modern football, many players become frustrated when they are not starting every week, but he was never like that.
He never complained, never created problems, and never stopped believing that his moment would come. Every single day in training he worked with the same hunger and professionalism.
Some players need to play every week to feel important. Some need constant attention and recognition.
Divock could wait for months, step onto the pitch for ten minutes, and change the course of a season. That mentality is incredibly rare and something every manager dreams of having in a squad.
The dressing room loved him, the supporters adored him, and his teammates trusted him completely because they knew he could deliver when it mattered most.
Football will remember trophies and statistics. Liverpool will remember the man who always seemed to arrive when history needed a hero and when miracles were required.
For me, Divock Origi will always be a Liverpool legend, not because he played the most games, but because he gave Liverpool some of its most unforgettable moments.”

A Quick Update Before I Take a Short Break
I’m taking a 5 day break, but before I go, I wanted to pop on here and share a few urgent needs for our sanctuary/ charity .
Right now, we are desperately in need of adult wet dog food, puppy wet food, and poo bags.
These essentials are running low, and keeping our dogs fed and cared for is our top priority.
We also wanted to mention our ongoing fundraising efforts. We are still working hard to reach our targets, and every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference.
Food donations are our most urgent need at the moment, but any support, whether through donating supplies, contributing to our fundraiser, or sharing this post is greatly appreciated.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support us. Your kindness helps us give these dogs the love, care, and second chance they deserve. 🧡

I’ve never wanted a player to succeed at Liverpool as bad as I wanted Nuñez to.
That Newcastle winner & Madrid flick are some of the most I’ve celebrated Liverpool goals.
In another life amigo🫡
🗣️“It’s our duty to come back”
Tributes have been paid to those who gave their lives in battle, as the anniversary of D-Day is marked at the British Normandy Memorial in Ver-sur-Mer
Sadly, this is the smallest number of Normandy Veterans that have ever attended the ceremony
Did you know that the first women to land on the Normandy beachhead in June 1944 were nurses of Queen Alexandra’s Imperial Nursing Service?
Their task was to establish a field hospital for 600 wounded soldiers.
They succeeded.
Please remember these heroines who saved lives:
