🚨Thomas Reis on Mohammed Salah reaching 15G/A for Trabzonspor.
Reis 🗣️“I thank him everyday for choosing us [Trabzonspor] because he’s the main character of our team, he decides every game, and for him producing this numbers already tells you who he is.”
“15G/A is a massive run you will see a player above his 30s producing, I’m never in doubt about winning a trophy from this season till the next.
He has done it before and will do it again and again like he use to, simply the best player who changes lives.
“Few days ago I remember him telling me that, “there will be doubts, even in our own selves but we have to keep our heads up and face it.”
“I stood in my office for about an hour and still thinking deep into what he told me, and of course it touch me in my heart.
We just have to believe cause he’s the player who has been in bigger games with an experience no one thought of.
winning the champions league and twice the premier league.”
We have to let him lead.
Jurgen Klopp on Mo Salah bravely start to his career in the Turkish league.
Jurgen Klopp 🗣️“Why surprise? He’s the best in play making the whole of Europe, he knows where to be at the right time and to make an impact on the ball that counts for his team and that’s why he’s the best.”
“I was chatting with him few weeks ago and he said he was feeling good to be there in the Turkish league and the happiest club as well.
“When he’s happy there’s no need to doubt him, and this start to the league tells you much about him.”
“When he arrive in the premier league there were doubts on his success in the league, and he conquered and won it all there.”
Arguably the best player after I’ve ever managed, Reis will enjoy his company, there’s a lot to offer.”
🚨 Mohamed Salah on scoring and assisting in Trabzonspor’s 2–0 win over Hearts:
🎙️ Interviewer: “Mo, a goal, an assist and another important victory for Trabzonspor. How are you feeling after tonight’s performance?
Mohamed Salah:
“Honestly, I feel very happy. Not just because I scored or assisted, but because we won. That is always the most important thing for me. Goals are beautiful, assists are beautiful, but when you see your teammates celebrating together and the supporters leaving the stadium happy, that feeling is different”
“When I arrived here, I knew the people of Trabzonspor had a special connection with this club. But experiencing it yourself is something else. You feel their passion everywhere. They want you to fight for this badge, to give everything, and I promise them that is exactly what I will do”
“Tonight, I wanted to give them something to celebrate. The goal was important, the assist was important, but the three points mean more to me than any individual achievement”
Interviewer: “Some people questioned what you would bring to Trabzonspor at this stage of your career. Do performances like this give you extra motivation?
Mohamed Salah:
“Listen, if I spent my life answering everybody who doubts me, I would never have time to play football!
“I respect every opinion, but I know what I can give to a team. I have played at the highest level for many years, and I still wake up every morning wanting to improve. I did not come here to enjoy the last chapter of my career. I came here to compete, to win and to help this club achieve something special”
“And to the people of Trabzonspor, I want to say thank you. Your love means a lot to me. When you wear this shirt, you understand that you are representing more than yourself. You are representing a city, a history and supporters who live for these moments”
“Tonight was a good night, but we cannot become satisfied. Tomorrow, we work again. There are more games, more goals to score and more victories to fight for”
“And one more thing: if you thought I came here just to pass the ball and smile for pictures, you have not been watching me closely enough!”
“Trabzonspor gave me a warm welcome. Now I want to repay that love with performances, trophies and memories these supporters will never forget.”
🚨 Xavi Espart on his defensive awareness and Flick’s influence on his game:
🗣️“It’s something that has been instilled in us since our days at La Masia. From a very young age, we’re taught to fight to win the ball back, keep possession and never give it away cheaply. It becomes part of your footballing identity because you grow up understanding how important it is to have control of the game.
Personally, I’m always restless whenever we don’t have the ball. I want to press, recover possession and help my teammates regain control as quickly as possible. For me, defending isn’t just about stopping the opposition from scoring; it’s also about knowing when to press, how to close down spaces and how to help the team move forward once we win the ball back.
That mentality has always been part of Barcelona, and it’s something we carry with us from the academy. Since Flick arrived, he’s also helped me improve that side of my game. He demands intensity, discipline and aggression when pressing, and he wants us to react immediately whenever we lose possession.
I think that has made me better defensively because I now understand even more how important it is to win the ball back quickly. At Barcelona, we don’t just want to have the ball; we want to control the game with it, and when we lose it, we have to do everything possible to get it back.”

🚨 Thomas Reis reveals what he told Mohamed Salah after his goal and assist against Hearts:
🎙️ Interviewer: “Thomas, Mohamed Salah scored and assisted in the 2–0 victory over Hearts. He was substituted in the 75th minute. What did you say to him as he came off?
Thomas Reis:
“I told Mo, ‘Captain, you have done your job tonight. Now let somebody else run for a few minutes!’
“But seriously, what he gave us tonight was much bigger than a goal and an assist. People see the numbers, the celebrations and the headlines. Inside this dressing room, we see the standards he sets every single day”
“Mo is our captain, and he understands what that responsibility means. When the team needs quality, he produces it. When the team needs belief, he gives it. When younger players are watching, they see somebody who has spent years performing at the highest level without losing his hunger”
“Sometimes I think people have become so used to Salah being extraordinary that they have forgotten how extraordinary it actually is. He has delivered at the highest level for years. Yet every time he scores, people still find a reason to question him. One quiet game and suddenly everybody has an opinion. One brilliant performance and some people act as if it was expected”
Interviewer: “So when you substituted him in the 75th minute, was it simply about protecting his energy?
Thomas Reis:
“Of course, managing his energy was part of it. But I also wanted him to hear something from me personally”
“I looked at him and said, ‘Mo, never underestimate what you mean to this team. Your job is not finished when you score. Your responsibility is not finished when you assist. You are our captain, and these players need to see you leading them for as long as you are here.’
“He smiled. That is Mo. He does not need a long speech or a standing ovation to understand what you mean.
“And let me tell you something funny: when I took him off, I was probably more worried about his reaction than the reaction of the supporters! You take Salah off after he scores and assists, and suddenly everybody becomes a football manager.
“But I would rather have a player disappointed to leave the pitch than one who is happy to sit on the bench. That hunger is part of what has made him special”
Interviewer: “Do you believe Salah still has something to prove?
Thomas Reis:
“Prove what? That he can score goals? That he can change games? That he can lead a team? He has spent years answering those questions”
“The real question is whether people appreciate what they are watching while they still have the opportunity to watch it”
“Mo does not need to score every week to earn my respect. He has already earned that. But when he delivers a performance like this, I will celebrate him because our captain deserves it”
“Tonight, he reminded everyone of his quality. Tomorrow, he will be back at training demanding more. That is the difference between a great player and a true leader.”
Douglas Luiz, what on earth was that?! 😭 What was he thinking, catching the ball like he was the goalkeeper? Such a stupid penalty to concede. Juventus cannot catch a break

🚨Cesc Fabregas on telling his side [Como] to slow down the game after leading Manchester United 4-0.
Cesc Fabregas 🗣️“Oh yeah, I feel that was embarrassing to see my side who just made their first ever debut to the champions league destroy one of the biggest club in Europe.”
“Before the game we prepared so well to defend if they’re desperately trying to attack and score more goals.
“But rather they turn to be defending and losing possession like they’ve forgotten how to play football, I saw Ryan Giggs up there in the stands after we scored the fourth goal.”
“I told Da Cunha to tell everyone to keep it calm on them because it was embarrassing to watch, and I didn’t expect them to play this poor the whole game.”
“The Manchester United I use to know when I was a player is what I told my players about, they attack and make you feel uncomfortable even if you’re with the ball.”
“But this current team gives you space to attack and leave the ball for us to possess, I couldn’t hold back my laugh when I saw Giggs up there in the stands,
He might as well be piss looking at his team play this nasty.”
🚨Jürgen Klopp on who should win the 2026 Ballon d’Or:
“Give it to Lionel Messi. Honestly, give him the award and let us have a proper conversation about football afterwards, because I'm getting tired of people making this more complicated than it needs to be.
I know how football works. People want new faces, new stories, new heroes. They want to celebrate the next generation, and that's absolutely fine. But since when did celebrating young players require us to forget what greatness looks like?
If Messi is still producing performances that make the rest of the world stop and watch, why should his age become an argument against him?
Tell me, what exactly are we rewarding with the Ballon d'Or? The best footballer of the year, or the player whose story we find most convenient?
Because when I watch Lionel, I don't see a man surviving on his reputation. I see a player who still understands football at a level that very few people in history have ever reached.
His movement, his vision, the way he manipulates defenders before the ball even reaches his feet — these are things you cannot teach easily. You can run faster than Messi. You can be stronger than Messi. You can spend an entire match chasing him. But understanding the game the way he does? That is a different conversation.
And please, don't tell me that he has already won enough trophies. What kind of argument is that? If a player performs better than everybody else in the relevant period, are we supposed to punish him because he has already achieved greatness?
The Ballon d'Or is not a retirement gift. But it is not a youth award either. Judge the football, not the birth certificate.
I have enormous respect for the younger players. They are pushing the game forward, and some of them will have extraordinary careers. But none of that means we must rush to crown somebody else while Lionel is still reminding us what makes him special.
And there is something else people forget. Messi doesn't always need to score three goals to control a match. Sometimes he gives one pass, makes one movement, or finds one solution that changes the entire game. If you only judge football through statistics, you will miss half of what he gives you.
So my position is simple: look at the performances, examine the entire year, and apply the same standards to everybody.
If another player has genuinely had the stronger year, make that argument with evidence. I will listen.
But if the argument is simply that Messi has won too many awards, that he is too old, or that football needs a new king, then I'm sorry — that is not football analysis. That is marketing.
Lionel Messi doesn't need the Ballon d'Or to prove he is one of the greatest ever. But if his football makes him the best player of 2026, then give him the award. Don't let the desire for a new story blind you to the one still being written.”
🚨🔴ONE HAND IS TO WIPE MY TEARS, AND THE OTHER IS TO POINT AT THE PERSON WHO MADE IT ALL HAPPEN THROUGH LIVERPOOL.”
🎙Araújo explains the meaning behind his celebration against Villarreal:
“One hand represents the difficult moments, the sacrifices and the tears I had to overcome to get here. The other is a tribute to the person who played a major role in making this possible through Liverpool.
“People see the goal and the celebration, but they don't always know the story behind it. For me, it was about remembering where I came from and appreciating the people who helped change my journey.
Lots of positives to take;
- Kabasakal is back
- Mo Salah as captain
- Savic & Nwaiwu are rested
- Folacrelli, Mendy and Bouchouari get game time.
- Saviolo on Left wing.
Realistically what’s your score predictions from the XI Thomas Reis picked?
🚨Cesc Fabregas on telling his side [Como] to slow down the game after leading Manchester United 4-0.
Cesc Fabregas 🗣️“Oh yeah, I feel that was embarrassing to see my side who just made their first ever debut to the champions league destroy one of the biggest club in Europe.”

🚨Arda Guler on Trent been on the Bench for the third time in a row.
Guler 🗣️“Of course I feel bad about him being left out but also it’s not up to me for making decisions, he’s a true passer and Mourinho too admits that in training.
“One time after training he told us he needs players who run massively on the field, Josè Mourinho doesn’t hide his feeling from his players and he was being straight up with it.”
I think according to him Trent doesn’t offer what he wants on the pitch, and I feel sorry for him.”
🚨 Vitinha explains what makes Pedri so difficult to stop:
🗣️“He’s always a difficult player to play against. He never stops giving you problems, and what I find most frustrating about facing him is how comfortable he looks on the ball. You can be right in front of him, preparing to win the ball back, and he still looks completely relaxed, as if he has all the time in the world.
As a midfielder, your instinct is to press him and try to take the ball away, but the next thing you know, he’s turned past you, and you’re left chasing him. His turns are incredible, and what makes them even more difficult to deal with is how quickly he executes them. You think you’ve closed down the space, but he finds a way out before you can even react.
The other thing about Pedri is his composure. You can put him under pressure, close down his passing options and try to force him into a mistake, but he rarely panics. He always seems to find a way out of difficult situations with the ball. Sometimes, you feel like you’ve done everything right defensively, but he still manages to escape your pressure and keep his team moving forward.
I’ve played against him a few times with Spain and Portugal, and honestly, he’s still a very difficult player to read. Even when you know what he’s capable of, stopping him is another matter entirely. He’s not necessarily going to beat you with pace or do something spectacular every time he gets the ball. Sometimes, it’s just one small movement, one turn or one touch, and suddenly, you’ve lost your position.
That’s what makes him so good. He understands the game, knows when to slow things down and when to speed things up, and he’s incredibly difficult to dispossess. As a midfielder, you recognise those qualities because you know how much intelligence and awareness they require. He’s a player you have to be switched on against for the entire game, because the moment you lose concentration, he’ll find a way to punish you.”
