@VoicesofWW2 Whilst a terrible day i would not say that the RN died that day. Quite the opposite, it continued to grow throughout the war. There were other bad days too, HMS PoW & Repulse, 9 major ships at Crete, but the RN carried on & was instrumental in defeating Germany & Japan

4no forward firing by pilot
2no dorsal turret
4no tail tureet
Sometimes 2no each side of waist beam poaition.
So potentially somwewhere between 12 and 16 guns
