नारद, जो अपने मामा के घर आया हुआ था, ने सरपंच के बोरवेल से पानी भरने की "हिम्मत" की, और इसी "जुर्म" में उसे लाठी-डंडों से इतना बेरहमी से पीटा गया कि उसने मौके पर ही दम तोड़ दिया।

यह घटना न केवल दलित समाज पर बढ़ते अत्याचारों को उजागर करती है, बल्कि यह भी दिखाती है कि भाजपा सरकारों के "एक है तो सेफ है" जैसे दावे, दलितों को "सेफ" करने में पूरी तरह विफल हैं।
