Helicopter Rescue- Helicopter 964 successfully evacuated 11 National Park Service employees from Santa Rosa Island today amid the ongoing vegetation fire.
The crew safely transported all personnel from employee housing—threatened with being cut off by the fire—to Oxnard Airport, with no injuries reported.
This swift operation ensured the safety of our dedicated park staff.

Due to a large tree stretching across all lanes of the US 101 southbound south of Fairview in Goleta.

US 101 is closed in both directions near Goleta due to a series of mudslides. Southbound travelers on US 101 are being directed off at the junction with Hwy. 1 north of Gaviota. Northbound travelers are being directed off at Winchester. Crews on site. No estimate for reopening.
