@VaeVix@MinnieMouseCat@NoContextHumans Yes but as I read I automatically know where I am. It went 2,1,4 in my head. 400 is the answer. Unless it's complicated it's just as simple to do it as you go. Plus you have better reading comprehension that way if there's any tricks they've tried to sneak into the question.
@VaeVix@MinnieMouseCat@NoContextHumans I find it funny that people think me just reading along and doing the math is more complicated than reading it then breaking it apart into something different and doing it.
@jimthegiant We don't. Americans have more disposable income than any country in the world.
Even people in "poverty" are better off. World Bank sets the poverty line at $3 a day. America it's $16,000 a year.
When's the last time you saw a homeless person without a cell phone?
@forever_ndo@cardinal2312@omgsidewalks ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ the top 10% of earners pay 90% of all taxes collected. The bottom 40% of earners pay $0 in taxes and normally get money back at the end of the year through tax credits.....
You don't know what you're talking about.
@ItsLulu_7 The taxpayers subsidies things always gets me. The bottom 40% of earners pay no income tax in America. Almost all of them get money back at the end of the year. The top 10% of earners pay 90% of all income taxes collected.
@MinnieMouseCat@NoContextHumans True. I normally just do the calculations as I read instead of breaking it down though. I've been told I do math weird but I come to the correct answers so ๐คท
@KoriWillWorry@ftdatl@Brad2K26@NoContextHumans Get some $100 poker chips and draw a picture of a cow. Make two equal piles of chips and buy and sell the cow just as described above between the two piles. After, one pile of chips will have $400 more. Go try it yourself.

Wow just wow. First it doesn't matter even if he went into debt to make the second purchase that still doesn't change any of the numbers.
Money out
800, 1100 total $1900
Money in
1000, 1300 total $2300
2300-1900= $400 profit.
@MinnieMouseCat@NoContextHumans I'll step by step this for the people who aren't getting it.
Buy -800 sell for +1000 that's $200 profit
Now you buy it for 1100 so you take the $200 profit out , -900 sell for +1300 that leaves $400 profit.
