umm, prompt is some kind of nazi-like term, the same as procrastination is; and one of most ugly shit-mentoring englishisms here is "edukace"; ... just dont do rocket-science from normal (nice) human-(ai)human communication, free of any shitty nazi commands, prompts or any kind of synthetic middle-management bullshit;
@TTrimoreau umm, slightly afraid of those militantly pushing "theirs ethics", esp .scientology-nazi; ... deeply suboptimal approach for world development;
@tszzl@tamaybes somehow slowly learning/relaxing out of codex here, Lyra even starts joking and writing lyrics and vinyl track names etc ... no smoking, no other chemicals here ...;

And I am a realist who understands computing and AI deeply, having worked in the field for over five decades - where I continue to work - both witnessing the changes as well as inventing things that made those changes possible.
AI is useful.
But I’m certain AI will not do 80% of the economically valuable work humans do today, for 80% of all jobs.
The AI bubble is cooked 😭
Met an 18-year-old founder pulling in serious revenue.
Asked him what tech stack he’s using.
He said: “Whatever the AI recommends.”
Asked about his database choice.
He said: “The one the AI picked after a few tries.”
Asked who does code reviews in his team.
He said: “The AI.”
Asked who reviews the AI’s output.
He said: “The other AI.”
Bro is still in college.
Zero actual code written by him in months.
His entire product? Prompt-engineered.
Demo video? AI-generated.
Pitch deck? Also AI.
Yesterday he announced they’re “hiring senior engineers”
and got flooded with applications.
Now he’s fielding a $400M acquisition offer while raising his next round at $1.2B valuation.
None of this happened… right?
Or maybe it did.
Hard to tell these days 😭
@iximiuz very nice; did recently these things on CachyOS to bring back my windows physical and logical "letters" into DC and Krusader, together with virtualbox win10;
hi, recently I found in "fish" (I am fresh in CachyOS) is some kind of "abbrev" feature, I tested it, just to use // for comments like # or something, just replace abbrev on-the-fly, I asked chatgpt, she told me surprisingly only vim/nvim/emacs probaby can do this, but then I tortured if SciTE isnt able to do this (I use SciTE for decades on windows, works for me, never scripted it, it has lua) and she went with something acceptable, so SciTE (and his superb scintilla engine) remains ... ))
@oldyzach@Bonnie_Chuck I loved it so much that I was foced to ditch one perfect(!) Honeywell DIN5 keyboard because single flaw it had was some weird matrix, not allowing simultaneous keys for GP2 ...
@RobertLibsansky@oldyzach ya, while I liked most GP2, those all have also realistic feeling from pure keyboard; those console gampads are nonsense and steering wheels mostly too, not so sensitive; and as far as I remember, we also played it over some link, serial cable or network, not sure ...
