Today, Local 810 @Teamsters members working at @NYULangoneLI voted and overwhelmingly ratified a historic 5-year contract that included the highest wage increases ever negotiated, additonal PTO, and continued employer paid healthcare and pension benefits. #nogivebacks ✊🇺🇸

After years of organizing across nine different hospitals, nearly 10,000 nurses at Corewell Health recently won one of the largest union elections in decades and joined the Teamsters.

Today, Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien and Teamsters General Secretary-Treasurer Fred Zuckerman welcomed Michigan nurses from Corewell Health East to the International's headquarters to celebrate the charter of Teamsters Local 2024.

"It is a privilege to represent such a strong and resilient group who deserve the protections and benefits of a strong Teamsters contract," O’Brien said. "Now, it’s time for us to get to work at Corewell and negotiate the best Teamsters contract possible for you and your co-workers.”

Just three weeks ago, nearly 10,000 registered nurses at nine different hospitals across Southeastern Michigan voted to affiliate with the Teamsters Union. This historic organizing victory was one of the largest U.S. union elections in more than 20 years. Now, Corewell Teamsters will assemble a worker-led bargaining committee team for contract negotiations.

The wage increases currently being won by Teamsters are the biggest they’ve been in decades!

Teamsters Local 810 members who work as skilled maintenance workers at NYU Langone Health ratified a new contract and won a 24% pay increase and employer-paid Teamsters health care and pension benefits.

That’s the difference the Teamsters make for working families.
