If a woman speaks to a crowd of pastors, is it evidence of her teaching men?
Or is it only “teaching” if she uses Scripture?
Or is it only wrong if she explains Scripture, and in that case, does it suddenly become “preaching” regardless of the setting?
Or is it only preaching if there’s a pulpit involved? A Sunday morning service? A title?
Meanwhile, the same movement insisting women must never “teach men” somehow has no issue platforming women like Megan Basham to address rooms full of male pastors when it serves their cultural or political priorities.
So apparently a woman can instruct, influence, warn, persuade, and shape the thinking of men… as long as everybody agrees not to call it “teaching.”
She can serve, sweat, pray, and deliver the same exact message about Jesus as any man she knows- as long as we don’t call her a pastor.
If this doesn’t feel like God’s heart, I suspect it’s because we all pretty much know it’s not.
Most evangelicals that lean left don’t really care if you critique the Democratic Party because they don’t fall in agreement with all of their policy positions and don’t have a vested interest in the preservation and promotion of the Democratic Party. Many tend to be socially progressive but theologically conservative - so they disagree on a variety of issues that the Democratic Party promotes.
Evangelicals that lean right have a vested interest un the preservation and promotion of the Republican Party because they are practicing a syncretism of right wing politics. They will do everything to defend republicanism and conservatism, even if it means that Christian witness and fidelity is compromised.
Many evangelical democrats and republicans actually hold to similar theological convictions. Where they often differ are on issues of race, immigration, and the role of the state to provide services for the marginalized.
@JackPosobiec How about marriage isn’t a contractual agreement. You are both all in all the time, if that means you work and do some housework it is what it is.
@TansuYegen Shutting the interstate costs millions an hour, police do what they can to get it back open. The car is totaled doesn’t matter what the cop does to it. Still an odd move, guess the tow was going to take too long.
@ChetLemond@AndyBeshearKY You pay school taxes to fund education. I get not wanting your tax dollars to go to waste but you can’t seriously be against funding pre-k when it shows clear differences in how students start out in school.
@TalkChock The situation in metro is certainly incredibly rare that this were to happen but if the situation called for it go for it with good communication that fire attack is delayed and a second arriving company needs to pull a line. Or staffing permitted go short on the attack line.
