Overheard my students talking about health drinks in class (non-verbatim)
1: My parents are making me drink Pocari?
2: Yeah, that gives you electrolytes. I drink Berocca.
1: What’s Berocca?
2: It’s what old people drink, but it’s good! You should try it.
I’m old people.
People nowadays often look straight through the truth, the truth that does not agree with what they (want to) believe in. As if the truth is a spectre of one’s misunderstanding and folly that must be wished away with ignorance.
In all honesty, I’m hurt. I’m beyond disappointed by now. I’m hurt. It hurts me that it has come to this. But I guess no one would really care about that. As long as their witty captions and hashtags get the attention they so deserve.
I guess mob think and mob mentality is the norm now and that we’d have to live with it. It’s just a little too hard for me to accept the seeming lack of empathy. Apparently, people no longer imagine themselves in another one’s place to try to find out how the other would feel.
I rarely tweet these days but I just need to get this off my chest and into somewhere lol
With everything that happened today, I’m shocked that people I know actually have the capacity to be so mean, cruel, and ruthless, hiding behind their witty captions and hashtags.
While we were watching CADs perform during Flourish and Thrive, I told Mara how I really like the song they were dancing to and she said she did to and that she’d Shazam-ed it earlier. And I’m listening to it right now. 😁 It’s Goodbye by Victoria Monét. Thanks, CADs!
@grabph But I’m not sure if he’s also telling the truth (that he can’t see our saved note since he showed me his app on his phone). So it can also be a problem with the app. We’ve already assessed him on our end.
A polite but visibly irritated @grabph food driver told us that we don’t have a note to our drop-off when we had food delivered. Which is weird bc we do have a note since the drop-off is a saved place (our house). So I don’t know who’s telling the truth. 🤷🏻♂️
A thought for tonight: it’s one thing to be empowered to voice your thoughts and opinions. It’s a completely different thing to be rude and disrespectful in the guise of being witty.
Hunter should’ve played his idol! When in doubt, play it! 🤦🏻♂️ Oh well, I guess that’s why he’s already out of the game. 🤷🏻♂️ (I just watched the episode today)

All I ask is if this is my last night with you, hold me like I’m more than just a friend. Give me a memory I can use. Take me by the hand while we do what lovers do. It matters how this ends ‘cause what if I never love again?
You can have Manhattan, I’ll settle for the beach and sunsets facing westward with sand beneath my feet. I’ll wish this away, just missing the days when I was one half of two. You can have Manhattan ‘cause I can’t have you.
I’ll close my eyes then I won’t see the love you don’t feel when you’re holding me. Morning will come and I’ll do what’s right. Just give me till then to give up this fight. And I will give up this fight.
