Anish Giri Stands With Nepal Through Chess!

Dutch GM @anishgiri hosted a special Titled Tuesday fundraiser to support Nepal’s flood and landslide relief efforts, livestreamed on his YouTube channel, Anish Giri.

Giri, who is the son of a Nepali father, said that all contributions will go to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund, while Giri has also pledged a personal donation.

Rt. Hon. Prime Minister Mr. Balendra Shah had a telephone conversation with H. E. Prime Minister of Japan Ms. @takaichi_sanae , today.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister of Japan conveyed her heartfelt condolences on the loss of lives caused by the devastating floods in Nepal and reaffirmed the readiness of the Government of Japan to extend support during this hour of difficulty.

The Rt. Hon. Prime Minister expressed his sincere thanks for the solidarity and support from the Government and people of Japan. He informed that the Government of Nepal is utilizing all resources at its disposal for the search, rescue and relief of the affected. He also assured that the search of the missing Japanese nationals would equally receive top priority.

As today marks the 70th anniversary of Nepal-Japan diplomatic relations, the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister expressed confidence that the bilateral relations would be further strengthened in the days ahead.

Guys i am in malta for a one month internship. Today i had my first day and after i told them i was from Nepal everyone was so sad about the flood situation and asked if my family was doing okay. I mean that is humanity. Their heart was asking for people they don’t even know.

🇳🇵 They thought it was a cat... Rescuers in Nepal were picking through the mud in Rasuwa when they heard a faint sound under the rubble.

They started digging, and 2 hours later, they pulled out a 6-year-old girl.

Manisha Magar had been buried for two days after the floods tore through her village. She could barely move.

They gave her water, then rice water, and waited through bad weather until a helicopter could get her to Kathmandu.

She’s alive, and now she’s with her parents.
