Have I mentioned how much fun I’m having?!?
I wake up at 3am every morning just waiting to be able to go to work. In the afternoons I don’t even want to leave. We have an incredible group!

President Donald Trump expressed his condolences to the family of NASCAR great Greg Biffle during his rally tonight in Rocky Mount, NC, following yesterday's plane crash that took the life of Biffle & his family.
"I met him twice, he was just a great young man. And what a tragedy that is with his whole family. So I just want to pay our condolences, our love.
"I'll tell you, North Carolina will never forget them. He and his family were incredible people."
Trump and Biffle most notably met on the grid of this year's Daytona 500, where Biffle took a selfie with the President. In the last year of his life, Biffle had been hailed as a national hero for going above and beyond flying rescue/relief missions and assisting those affected by Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina.
My phone is filled with messages about Greg Biffle.
It dawned on me that Greg left something behind, that few ever do.
As I was scrolling through my phone I realized that the messages pouring in with love for Greg weren't just from the wealthiest and the most famous... though, there were many of those.
What struck me, and I can't get over it, is the messages from the unassuming mountain men... men who few will ever know their names.
Men who silently helped their neighbors after the storm.
The men who received no recognition...
...because they didn't want any
It was these men... the ones you'll never meet, the ones who never took credit, the ones who kept their heads down and did the work, it was these hillbillies of Western North Carolina, that brought me to tears.
They had Greg's number, and they called him to check on him after seeing the news of the crash.
And this morning, it hit me like few things have, that every single one of us knew that Greg could have done anything, anything at all.
And for nearly a year, he chose to spend his life caring, building, loving, and serving a group of people he never met, asking for nothing in return.
What Greg left behind was a vast ocean of kindness to a people who are often forgotten and left behind.
..and these mountain men, they knew it
And all they wanted to do was to somehow make it up to him one day, and now they couldn't.
I know nothing of NASCAR.
I know nothing of Greg Biffle, the driver.
But every single one of us in Western North Carolina knows of Greg Biffle, the hero.
This guy was special.
A friend for 25 years who I respected immensely, both personally and professionally.
Absolute shoe. Fearless, fierce competitor. Currently on the NASCAR Hall of Fame ballot. Always thoughtful and strikingly honest with the media.
But beyond the driving talent, Greg had an incredible heart for others. He was a great dad and husband, a humanitarian and a patriot. Nobody did more in our area to advocate for pets in need.
When Helene brought our state to its knees, Greg bent down and lifted us up. Manning his personal helicopter, he delivered countless loads of supplies to WNC, in very difficult conditions to very difficult terrain, all to help people who were stranded atop those mountains and in desperate need.
He saved lives.
He is a hero.
My prayers are with all who are hurting, and the families of the seven individuals lost today.
Unimaginable.
I’ll miss him.
I have many photos with Biff...saw him at Stocks For Tots two weeks ago... but today's loss also includes his two children, wife and friends..so won't post right now.
I can't even.....I just can't...don't have the words. I do know that God takes the good ones and so we must be going to a better place. He was a really good one. I had a Christmas substack newsletter done to send tomorrow. Will hold that one.
This is a tough one for everyone.
RIP Greg, Christina, Emma, Ryder, Craig, Dennis, Jack. @FollowMRO
A Cessna 550 Citation II, N257BW, has crashed while landing at Statesville Regional Airport, North Carolina.
There were six occupants onboard, local media reports that five fatalities have been confirmed so far.
According to flight tracking data the aircraft made a return to the airport shortly after take off.
🚨#BREAKING: The plane that has crashed in North Carolina is confirmed to be owned by Greg Biffle.
Greg is the NASCAR driver and hero who flew hundreds of rescue missions in Western North Carolina in his helicopter after Hurricane Helene.
Update..This was the flight path of the Cessna 550 Citation that took off from Statesville airport and immediately turned around and tried to land. It did crash on that landing attempt back at the airport. More-->https://t.co/kAMeQu1QQM
We can confirm the owner of the aircraft leasing company, but we do not know who was on the plane. It reported engine trouble shortly after take-off and was trying to land back at the airport. It crashed and burst into flames. Yes, I am aware of lots of other information from good sources, but I will not post anything until we have better confirmation. All I will say is pray for those and the families on board; there are confirmed fatalities.
