@Samatha_Mathew I am amazed at the confidence level of masters students in their 1st yr of PhD. I've never seen it even in a final yr student in India (except very few). Something we need to learn and adapt.

@Samatha_Mathew Eventually, yes. While we learn from others throughout our lives, it majorly depends on the exposure one gets. Having it since childhood does make a difference. All I mean is it's not an exclusive PhD training. It's their basics, and everything else builds on one another.

@Samatha_Mathew Agreed. But I don't think it's PhD training. It's the training they have been getting since their schooling. They are taught to value themselves and have confidence in what they do and learn and how to project themselves professionally. Something indian schools fail to teach.

@Dr_KatieG1 It was so helpful for me. I already try to keep track of my work in calendar. But not the long term goals really. I think it helps to keep you on track. Thank you for the wonderful tips. I am sure a lot of people will get benefitted with this thread.
