Today while walking my 3 year old daughter a group of “Slava Ukraini” protesters followed us around and shouted as my daughter grew increasingly anxious and scared.

I decided to speak with the protesters in the hopes that I could trade a few minutes of conversation for them leaving my toddler alone. (Nearly all of them agreed.)

It was a mostly respectful conversation, but if you’re chasing a 3-year-old as part of a political protest, you’re a shit person.

Is Zelensky being incentivized to never have a ceasefire or peace deal?

Let’s say there is a ceasefire.

Then Zelensky has to have elections, which he will likely lose.

If he gives up any land to Russia, the ultranationalists will likely kiII him.

Russia is going to keep Crimea and roughly 20% of Eastern Ukraine. There is no way to remove them. So Zelensky is going to look like the loser in any scenario.

So instead Zelensky is incentivized to continue fighting, more Ukrainian men dying and keep the money flowing from Europe.
