@dilanesper@mehdirhasan I often hear that Israeli intelligence is indispensible for the US, but I've never read a detailed explanation. What evidence/examples is this based on? Is there a go-to text on this? (not a gotcha question btw--i'm genuinely ignorant.)
@dilanesper Because Israel is so successful, the U.S. should end financial aid. The U.S. and Israel can retain normal diplomatic and commercial ties, but the expectation must be that we treat them the same way we treat any other developed nation.
@dilanesper This is why I'm really nervous about Dems nominating Harris or Buttigieg. You don't get distance from Biden by running the most prominent members of his administration.
@dilanesper Kennedy is a shockingly conservative figure when you really dig into it. His writings show a man who believed that FDR had basically accomplished all that needed to be accomplished.
@Mangolith@ettingermentum NH Republicans are uncommonly effective. It's a blue state with a Republican governor and Republican majorities in its legislature. That Pappas is getting any crossover is a good sign to me.
@lyndonbajohnson I take your broader point, but I don't think the Obama example holds up. He was giving his big "what I am opposed to is a dumb war" speech while most Dems in Washington were desperately trying to hitch their carts to the W. Bush train. To me, that's a matter of principle.
@admcrlsn The Beshear camp is making an entirely reasonable argument here. There just isn't enough money to go around, and a dollar spent in Texas is a dollar you can't spend elsewhere.
@PanasonicDX4500 Funny! But, honestly, the Senate map is so stacked for Republicans that Trump could nuke Jacksonville and Democrats would still max out at 58 seats.
