I’m really jealous of our Rwandan neighbours. Everytime we seem like we are catching up with them, they do some wild stuff & jump straight back into a massive lead.

Now they’re revolutionizing their education by cutting classroom time by 2 whole hours each day. Originally, classes started at 8:30am and ran till 5:00pm. Now they’ll start at 8:30am and run till 3:30pm.

The goal is to reduce student fatigue & enable learners have time for sports, clubs, digital education, arts, music, community activities & other extracurricular programs that support holistic development.

From 8:30am to 3:30pm they’ll be in class and then after that they’ll focus on other disciplines till 5pm after which they’ll go home. On Friday, learners will go home at 3:30pm so that teachers can have time to plan for the next week’s programs.

Colleagues, I have to admit that our friends in 250 are doing something right. I’m officially jealous.

i have said this multiple times

while i was in secondary school, i wrote “DO NOT OPEN, BY POLICE ORDER” with chalk on the front door of all the shops we rented out in front of our house. i came back from school in the evening and saw all the shop owners and their staffs standing outside with the shops closed.

when i asked why they weren’t opened, their boss was like “are you blind, can’t you see that police has sealed the shop?” they had called my dad who had also called the commissioner of police in kwara to ask why his shops were sealed by police. the commissioner said they didn’t do anything like that.

my heart was already pounding cos it was meant to be a joke and didn’t expect these full grown adults to take it seriously.

my dad came back that night and said i would have to go an explain to the commissioner why i did what i did. i started running away from home anytime he was around so he would forget about the incident 😂😂
