The report mentions Israel 60 times. It refers to Palestine/Palestinian 35 times. It mentions Zionism (or Zionist) 11 times.

It argues for the adoption of the IHRA Definition that includes numerous examples related to Israel. It says, explicitly, that anti-Zionism is antisemitic. It says, outrageously, that Muslims disproportionately hold antisemitic views. It says 45% of British people are antisemitic because they believe that Israel rates Palestinians like Nazis treated Jews.

I'd say this report has almost nothing to do with antisemitism at all - it is almost entirely about Israel. Entirely.

It's two key recommendations are to encourage all schools to adopt the IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism, which is plainly discriminatory towards people holding anti-Zionist beliefs; and for Prevent to be more actively engaged in helping schools deal with antisemitic incidents.

It is an inflammatory, quite disgraceful report, that, if implemented, will create severe crises in schools across the country and lead to the systematic persecution and harassment of children and teachers expressing anti-Zionist views - including anti-Zionist Jewish students and teachers.

Due to a worrying outbreak of empathy for Palestinians, the British government is taking a string of measures to tackle antisemitism in schools. These measures include banning things that are not antisemitic but might hurt the feelings of Zionists, such as telling the truth about Israel and acting like Palestine exists.
Most importantly, schools will establish a new racism hierarchy which will go like this:
- Antisemitism will be put in a separate category and treated as an extra-evil form of racism that causes more serious harm than the others.
- Anti-black racism will be something that we occasionally pretend to care about, but we’ll still treat every black boy like a potential drug dealer.
- Islamophobia will be ignored, and if anyone kicks up a fuss, counter-terrorism police will be notified of possible radicalisation.
- Anti-GRT racism will be positively encouraged because we all hate gypsies, don’t we?
- And finally, anyone who refuses to participate in anti-Palestinian racism will be arrested and charged with an antisemitic hate crime.
We need much stricter measures to prevent antisemitism because it’s not more prevalent than other forms of racism. Apparently, 95% of black kids have experienced racism at school, but they’re not top of the hierarchy so who cares?
A whopping 60% of Jewish kids have experienced antisemitism at school, even though 70% of them attend a Jewish school. This proves that even Jewish schools are hotbeds of antisemitism.
While we centre Jewish pupils, it’s important that we disregard the feelings of Palestinian pupils. We demand neutrality in our schools so even something as simple as a badge with the Palestinian colours will be banned. We don’t want any political symbols around our kids, thank you.
Obviously, it will be fine to wear an Israeli badge because we wouldn’t dare ban those. Poppies will also be fine as long as they’re not those evil black, white, green, and red ones.
All pupils will be expected to wave the Ukrainian flag every morning. The aim is to give them a more nuanced understanding of conflict. We need to stop alarming them with sensationalist claims, which is why we’re telling them Russia is going to invade Europe like Hitler and they must be ready for conscription by the time they leave school.
If the Russia threat goes away, they can go fight whichever stupid Middle East war Israel is starting next. In the meantime, they can practice by playing Call of Duty until they are numb to mass death and destruction.
Far too many British kids were feeling sad about stuff on TikTok and not behaving like the hate-filled brats we want them to be. Now that we’ve banned them from social media and banned TV presenters from saying the word “genocide”, all we need to do is ban kids from talking about Gaza in schools and they will have no idea what’s going on. Their malleable minds will then be ready.
The final step in our devious plan will be to give all teachers special training to tackle antisemitism. They will be sent over to Israel where they will get the re-education treatment and be forced to kiss the wall, just like all the politicians Israel controls. Anyone who doesn’t put their tongue deep enough into the crack will be beaten until their kissing technique improves.
They will then be sent back to the UK to teach kids that genocide is “complicated” and tell them a lovely story about how God promised Zionists that land 3,000 years ago and it’s racist to not let them steal it. They will then ask them to perform healthy tasks such as throwing darts at pictures of Zack Polanski.

In a short while, Secretary of State for Education, @LucyMPowell will present the Sir David Bell review into antisemitism in schools and colleges.

This review is billed as the 'Independent review into antisemitism in schools and colleges'.

I've spoken to a number of individuals and organisations that submitted evidence to the Bell Review when the call for views from people with relevant lived experience, knowledge or expertise of antisemitism in schools and colleges went out earlier this year.

A number of them have gotten back to me to relay their horror and dismay that the review seems overly focussed on issues such as the presence of Palestine solidarity badges and other imagery in schools rather than the multitude of clear examples where Jewish students have been targeted with antisemitic abuse, discrimination and hatred.

It appears that the review is coming down hard on expressions of Palestine solidarity while being rather light on pupils who do Hitler salutes or make jokes about Jews and money.

Having done a little research I do also have some serious concerns as to the impartiality of this review and also the recommendation that schools adopt the IHRA definition of antisemitism despite it not being possible to make this compulsory, nor is it legally actionable.

If we care about tackling antisemitism in society, ensuring we get to it where it manifests in our schools and among young people, then we need to put a stop to the weaponisation of antisemitism and its use for political football where Israel-Palestine is concerned.

This review is fundamentally biased, ideological, and linked to efforts to tie Jewish identity with support for Israel while suppressing pro-Palestine expression as 'antisemitic' and intimidating for Jews.

The reality of course is that young Jews in the UK are way more intimidated and frightened by their classmates doing Hitler salutes, making jokes about the Holocaust, doing gas sounds towards them because they're Jewish, being physically assaulted for being Jewish, being bullied and isolated for being Jewish, being sexually assaulted (reports of kids demanding to see the circumcised penis of a Jewish school child in year 8), and all the other antisemitic shit that is happening in our schools.

I'm also reminded of what we learned from the documentary film @IsraelismFilm about the efforts to indoctrinate young Jews into seeing Israel as integral to their identity as Jews, that when Israel is criticised they are being personally attacked as Jews, and that they can only see themselves as Jewish if they support and love Israel.

Anyway, below are some very serious issues relating to Sir David Bell, his lack of impartiality, and the failure to declare vested interests of himself and a number of those on the reference group:

- David Bell's role as a permanent secretary at the department of education was not disclosed as a conflict of interest.

- David Bell is named on the national council of the 'National Study Group', an educational charity, that in its mission statement says that its goal is to "initiate or expand active links and research collaboration between academics, specialists and centres-of-excellence in the UK and their counterparts in Israel." The ASG is "primarily a UK-Israel operation" and rather worryingly the "only issue on which ASG has firm policy is opposition to BDS. The Charity is totally committed to the universality of knowledge and rejects any disruption to cross-national co-operation."

- The ASG, of which Sir David Bell is named as a member of national council, provides educational talks about Israel to schools.

- Executive director of the ASG, John D.A. Levy, is on the advisory board of Academic Friends of Israel and a separate charity, the friends of Israel educational foundation.

- The Friends of Israel Educational Foundation carries out hundreds of school talks in the UK.
