I love my new job except that I am expected to be a secretary and paralegal - I am not qualified for either of those jobs. After four months of whining, I now have approval to hire someone who can help, and I couldn’t be more excited (except I’ve never hired anyone and don’t know where to start).
@TheRebootPath The progressiveness of the disease is something that I wish I would have fully accepted sooner. I was shocked by how quickly and dramatically things deteriorated last time I decided I could manage my drinking after a long period of sobriety. Insane.
@TheRebootPath Four days is fantastic. Keep it up. And always remember that there are millions of people who have been or are going through the same thing and are willing to help you.
Three or four months ago I made a lateral move - dream job except that I’d have work remotely. I’d been white-knuckling for almost a year and was TERRIFIED that I would start drinking again without the accountability of going into an office. I didn’t follow you on LinkedIn or here at the time, but one of your LinkedIn posts came across my feed the week before I started because my new partner commented - I had had no idea that he was sober as well. Your post (and his comment) gave me the courage to reach out to him and discuss the issue. I dove back in to my recovery program, and things are going better than ever. Every time I see one of your posts I am reminded of and grateful that you made that particular post - thank you.
@marcorandazza@blackpugs It’s from the official AA book, referred to as the “Big Book.” It’s addressing the financial amends that must be made as part of the steps/recovery journey
@headycrocker10@LagunaBiotchIG Maybe not a big deal to you, but this would be a huge deal for millions of alcoholics in recovery and others who abstain from alcohol. One sip can absolutely derail a person and have horrific, even fatal, consequences.
