The Gabe debate is dumb and I think at this point Pronman is digging in his heels but his first comment was “you hope he’s Jonathan Marchessault” and like, yea I do! He was career .75 ppg and won the Conn Smythe lol. And also is a clear middle ground between those two guys.
@travisyost Conversely, this might just make Utah’s job easier to keep him. They’re in win now mode, why not just see if he performs and let him walk? Iginla might be ready but if he isn’t then they’re looking for a Hayton anyway, for a much higher price than a 2nd
Patrikhayev was teammates with current Wolf Pack G Spencer Martin and former Wolf Pack D Mac Hollowell with CSKA Moscow this season.

@wwright88 Yea like this feels like a guy that you’d hear about at age 23-24 as an intriguing UDFA candidate. Now NYR has his rights for 4 years instead
@wwright88 I think Roobroeck presents a unique opportunity for the Rangers because they have his brother in the system. I imagine he’s on some teams DND lists and if he falls to 64 I’d be hard pressed to not take him. See if you can get him going especially when/if he goes to Hartford.
@DaveyUpper@BillTouspille It would be one thing if Caleb was established and then went to a team coached by his dad, but having a young team built around the son of the couch is rife with issues, notwithstanding the fact that now if Manny gets fired in 3 years - how does your centerpiece feel about it?
@JLazzy23 I think the natural reaction to this on the team side is that teams will stop offering long term contracts, because what advantage does locking up a player give you? Or NMCs become very rare.
@JFreshHockey This was always the contention when they signed him to the extension instead of the redwings tanking one more year in the Bedard draft. Really bad!
