One of my college friends is fairly apolitical, but is conservative
He called me tonight, completely despondent about Charlie Kirk’s assassination — one thing he said really stuck with me, and it’s worth us all thinking about
“If all Americans of any beliefs were like Charlie Kirk in how they approached disagreement, we’d undeniably live in a better country”
I hope that’s a lesson we all reflect on — Charlie’s viral videos were the full blown embodiment of civil disagreement, and someone woke up this morning, thinking he’d be the good guy if he murdered Charlie in cold blood
There is simply nothing more un-American than that
When you’re extremely Type A but you work in athletics so all sense of schedule/routine/normalcy goes out the window and you’re winging your day everyday
Here’s how you can support athletic trainers and show appreciation for everything they do:
1. Say Thank You – A simple “thank you” goes a long way. Take time to recognize the athletic trainers in your life.
2. Spread Awareness – Share posts, stories, and facts about what athletic trainers do to help educate others.
3. Advocate for AT Coverage – Support policies and initiatives that ensure schools, teams, and workplaces have access to qualified athletic trainers.
4. Recognize Their Expertise – Remember, athletic trainers are healthcare professionals, not just “trainers.” They are educated, certified, and crucial to injury prevention and recovery.
5. Support Safe Sports – Advocate for proper safety protocols and resources for athletic trainers at all levels of play, from youth leagues to professional teams.
6. Celebrate Their Work – Nominate an athletic trainer for an award, write a note of appreciation, or even just bring them a coffee to say thanks!
Athletic trainers do so much to keep athletes healthy and active — let’s show up for them this month.

If you employ athletic trainers, you should absolutely post at least once about them during NATM.
I just know that the value I bring to my athletes is priceless and appreciated, and at the end of the day, I guess that's what matters.
Bringing this back for #NATM. I think it explains why we don't see larger healthcare systems shouting us out this month - our job is to save our patients time and money, and that impacts the bottom line, so these systems don't actually value us. Their silence speaks volumes.
