On Sunday we sat with women in Mamboleo, Muheza. As the world marked #InternationalWomensDay, they shared how projects like the East African Crude Oil Pipeline threaten land, water, and livelihoods. Women deserve justice, participation, and a clean energy future.

Here waiting for a hearing at Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) of Uganda waiting for a hearing since 11:00 pm. Running out of patience. Ugandans need to value each other’s time and take their responsibilities seriously. 😳 Not happy with this lack of punctuality.
The University never shows up. Last time, they merely dropped a letter asking for more time. Hmmm 🤔. Uganda 🇺🇬 can’t develop with this attitude.
It's a wrap on today's X storm, but the conversation continues. Let's continue sharing the findings from this independent report and urge #EACOP proponents led by @TotalEnergies & @CNOOCUgandaLtd to engage with the evidence. Facts matter! #UgandaOilRisks#JustTransition
Hello @StandardBankZA, @KCBug, & @TotalEnergies. Across Ug & Tz, young people are speaking with one voice: we oppose #EACOP. This pipeline threatens 100,000+ livelihoods & vital ecosystems. Our future cannot be built on fossil fuels. Invest in solutions youth support. #StopEACOP
Uganda is the 14th most climate-vulnerable country (World Bank data). Yet its development plan underplays climate risks. IEEFA report suggests an alternative pathway: invest in climate-resilient industrialisation, agricultural value addition, and modern energy access. #StopEACOP!
The EACOP’s economics rely on a slow global energy transition. But the transition is accelerating. Is Uganda betting on the wrong horse?
#UgandaOilRisk#UgandaDebt
Over 40 banks and 30 insurers have refused to support EACOP. According to new research by IEEFA, these banks acted on strong financial risk calculations. The world is moving on from fossil fuels. Shouldn’t Uganda?

Hey @StandardBankZA, you claim climate leadership & strong ESG commitments. But backing the controversial #EACOP tells a different story. Along the pipeline route, communities in Tz & Ug risk losing land and ecosystems face destruction. Shareholders deserve answers. #StopEACOP

Foreign oil companies behind the #EACOP are protected by cost-recovery clauses recovering their investments first while Ug carries the oil price risk. If prices fall, public revenue shrinks but corporate costs are still paid. this isn’t a partnership, it’s gambling.
#StopEACOP
Uganda’s oil projects are delayed, over budget, and face financing shortfalls. The economics have worsened since the Final Investment Decision.#UgandaDebt. #StopEACOP.#JustTransition.
