Sudan gave so much to Somalis. When everyone turned their backs on us, Sudan was some of the few to welcome & offer somali citizens education, often at no cost. May Allah protect & free them from oppression. 🇸🇩 🥹❤️
Congratulations to Sagal Abdi-Wali (@Sagal_AW) on making history as the first MP of Somali heritage elected to the UK House of Commons! Such a proud moment for Somalis everywhere and an inspiration to a new generation of young Somalis.
Hambalyo, Sagal! 🇸🇴🇬🇧
From fleeing civil war in #Somalia as a child refugee to winning the seat vacated by former UK PM @Keir_Starmer, Sagal Abdi-Wali’s journey is a remarkable rebuke to those who question whether people who look like her belong in British politics. History has a way of answering its doubters. Congratulations, Sagal! A proud moment for Somali-Britons.
The only school for special needs children in Somalia's capital faces the threat of closure.
The Mustaqbal Centre for Special Needs provides free education to more than 140 children, 70% of whom have been diagnosed with autism.
Al Jazeera’s Nicolas Haque reports.
If only 🇸🇴 leaders could agree on things like this & leave politics aside for once. Whether it’s a national/state ID or a driver’s licence recognised across the country, we need a secure, properly managed system everyone agrees on! Can’t move around like xoolo dhaqato in 2026!

The #Somali Federal Government has introduced a new requirement for passengers traveling on domestic flights to carry a National Identification #Card.
The measure has reportedly affected flights between #Mogadishu and #Garowe, with some flights cancelled today.
The #government says the requirement is aimed at improving national security and monitoring passenger movements.
The move comes amid an ongoing dispute between the Federal Government and #Puntland over the implementation of the national identification #system.

This is Colonel Moalin Mohamed, known as Tuute, a veteran Somali Marine. After the Somali government collapsed in 1991, he remained in the abandoned Somali Embassy building 26 Rue Dumont D’Urville in Paris for more than 25 years. He had served as Somalia’s Deputy Military Attaché and later as Military Attaché during the regime of Siyad Barre.
Fearing that squatters might take over the building and important embassy documents could be lost, Colonel Tuute chose to stay. He lived in a small room without hot water and received no salary. Through those difficult years, he endured hardship to protect the embassy property and records for the Somali people.
His sacrifice deserves recognition. I hope that one day Somali authorities will honor him as one of the Somalis who helped safeguard the nation’s property during one of its most difficult periods.
I last met Colonel Tuute in Mogadishu in 2024. Even then, he remained devoted to serving his country with pride. Sadly, he is now ill. He deserves our prayers, respect, and gratitude.
AF- SOMALI
Kani waa Gaashaanle Sare Moalin Mohamed, oo loo yaqaan Tuute, halyeey ruug-cadaa ee ka tirsan ciidanka Badda ee Somalia. Ka dib markii ay dowladdii Soomaaliya burburtay 1991, wuxuu in ka badan 25 sano ku degana dhismaha Safaaradda Soomaaliya ee ku taal 26 Rue Dumont D’Urville, Paris oo cidla looga tegay. Wuxuu xilligii taliskii Siyaad Barre soo noqday ku-xigeenka u qaabilsanaa arrimaha milatariga ee safaaradda, dabadeedna noqday sarkaalka milatariga ee safaaradda.
Isagoo ka baqayay in dadka Homeless-ka oo af ingriisiga loo yaqaano Squatters ay la wareegaan dhismaha, isla markaana ay lumaaan dukumentiyada muhiimka ah ee safaaradda, ayuu Gaashaanle Tuute go’aansaday inuusan ka tegin. Wuxuu ku noolaa qol yar oo aan lahayn biyo kulul, mushaharna ma qaadan jirin. Sannadahaas adag, wuxuu u adkaystay duruufo qallafsan si uu hantida iyo diiwaannada safaaradda ugu ilaaliyo shacabka Soomaaliyeed.
Dadaalkiisa iyo naf-hurnimadiisu waxay mudan yihiin in la aqoonsado. Waxaan rajaynayaa in maalin maalmaha ka mid ah ay dowladda Soomaaliya ku maamuusi doonto inuu ka mid yahay Soomaalidii ka qayb qaadatay ilaalinta hantida qaranka xilli dalka soo marayay marxaladihii ugu adkaa.
Markii iigu dambaysay ee aan la kulmo Gaashaanle Tuute waxay ahayd Muqdisho sannadkii 2024. Xilligaasna weli wuxuu dalkiisa ugu adeegayay sharaf iyo waddaniyad.
Nasiib darro, hadda G/Sare Tuute wuu xanuunsan yahay. Wuxuu mudan yahay ducadayada, ixtiraamkayaga iyo mahadnaqayaga.
🇳🇱 Louis van Gaal advised to call in lawyers over Manchester City role in Manchester United sacking
➡️ LVG was fired after missing out on CL place
💬 "The team that finished fourth that year. Indeed, you guessed it: Manchester City. The club that was definitively exposed this week as the biggest cheat in football history, following fraud and deception on a staggering scale."
💬 "The entire English football world has turned against the club. But let us not forget the unforeseen individual victims in all this: Van Gaal, too, deserves vindication. Sue them into oblivion, Louis."

Somalia is ranked 199th. Ivory Coast are 31st and it was 0-0 till the 88th minute. Gutted but also proud of my national team. We can build on this against Ghana! 💙 🇸🇴

🇮🇶🇸🇴 Pirates hijacked an Iraqi businessman’s oil tanker. His tribe reportedly said: fine, we’ll get it ourselves.
After the vessel was seized off Somalia, the businessman’s tribe reportedly contacted Somali authorities, secured permission to pursue it, and went hunting for the ship.
Then they actually found it AND took it back.
