✨WA Volunteer Highlight - Meet Jo Thomson✨
Jo is currently juggling being a AACAI WA chairperson (over 400 volunteer hours), primary care giver, finishing a PhD, and running a consultancy... I'm tired just typing that out!
Thanks for your amazing contributions Jo!
National Archaeology Week aims to increase public awareness about the wonders of Australian archaeology and Indigenous culture, as well as promote the protection of Australia's archaeological heritage.
Check out https://t.co/khdIOfPAhU for a list of events in your state!
Check out NSW AACAI member Michael Lever's latest research: https://t.co/INnYc7OG9i
'I was motivated by my critical readings of 19th ethnographies and the realisation that little if any analysis had been carried out as to their potential accuracy. The results surprised me.'
One of the key pieces of feedback we get from members is that we don’t communicate what AACAI is doing very well, and we agree!
If you have any suggestions that you think we can improve on in this area, let us know in the comments!
WE WANT TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR RESEARCH!
Are you an AACAI member working on, or have recently published an archaeological paper? We would love to showcase your work on our social media!
But for now, I just wanted to say hi and let you know who is behind the AACAI social media keyboard for 2023. If you see me around the traps, make sure to come and say hi!
Hi everyone!
My name is Zane Blunt and I'm taking over the AACAI social media this year. I want to make AACAI social media more personable, to introduce the people behind the scenes, as well as our wonderful members and shine a light on their incredible work and achievements.
Since then, I have been lucky enough to work with some of WA’s best heritage consultants, many of them AACAI members, and be welcomed by Aboriginal communities across the state with open arms.
