Today in London, I hosted a team of investors in the Sports Industry, led by Dr. Bob Olukoya, Country Director, Alive and Kicking Nigeria Limited, and Mrs. Joanne Macrae, Director, Amos Sports Business School, London and Business Development Director, Alive and Kicking Nigeria Limited.

We had productive discussions on the enormous opportunities in sports business and industrial development in Osun State. I reaffirmed our administration’s commitment to transforming Osun from a civil service-dependent economy into an industrialised subnational entity, with the Osun Free Trade Zone positioned as a major hub for investment.

I have directed the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to urgently process the investors’ submission, as Osun is in a hurry for industrialisation. I am particularly encouraged by the proposal to establish a football factory in our Free Trade Zone to produce footballs for Nigeria, Africa and the global market, as well as the planned football talent academy to train and develop young Osun talents for local and international opportunities.

We will continue to create the right environment, policies and infrastructure to attract investments, create jobs and unlock the economic potential of our people. Osun is open for business, and we are ready to partner with investors who share our vision of an industrialised and prosperous state.

Osun State is Opening doors to the global AI economy for women with disabilities.

The SDG Office, under the leadership of Governor @AAdeleke_01, is set to host the VOICE Initiative — Visionary, Outcomes-Driven AI for Inclusion, Capacity for Empowerment.

A six-week, graduate-level Artificial Intelligence programme designed exclusively for women with disabilities.

Classified under SIP-ALPHA Category 13, the programme will equip participants with demonstrable AI competencies, professional portfolios and the digital infrastructure required for remote employment and independent economic participation in the global AI economy.

Operating at an international graduate standard, the VOICE Initiative is not simply a training exercise. It is a structured advancement pathway, beginning with the AI Innovation and Digital Enterprise (TIER I) certification, with direct progression available into the Advanced Research Diploma in Artificial Intelligence (ARDAI).

The programme is commissioned and funded by the UNESCO REF Educational Financial Facility Scheme (EFFS)

This is a bold step toward ensuring that women with disabilities are not left behind in the digital revolution, but are equipped to lead, innovate and thrive within it.

I join family, friends and well-wishers across Nigeria to celebrate our First Lady, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, @SenRemiTinubu on the joyous occasion of her 66th birthday.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu is a remarkable example of dedication to public service and nation building. I recall with fondness the partnership we enjoyed during our days in the Nigeria Senate, where she distinguished herself through legislation and advocacy for women, young people and inclusive governance.

Today, as the First Lady of Nigeria, she has continued to demonstrate a spirit of inclusiveness, galvanising Nigerians across political divides towards the shared goal of a better and more prosperous nation. She is truly an inclusive nation builder and a mother to all.

I honour her life of service and contributions to our dear country, and I pray Almighty God to bless her with many more years in good health, wisdom and fulfilment as she continues to support our President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the service of Nigeria.

Yesterday, we convened a State Security Council meeting headed by the deputy governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, to review recent security alerts and strengthen our collective response to emerging threats across Osun State.

As part of the measures agreed at the meeting, we have approved the establishment of a Joint Security Task Force (JTF) to enhance coordination, intelligence sharing and rapid response among our security agencies. Our administration will provide the necessary logistics and support to ensure the effective take-off and operation of the task force.

We have also directed that our security agencies remain on 24-hour alert, while calling on residents to remain vigilant, particularly around churches, mosques, schools and other public places. I urge everyone to promptly share credible intelligence with the security agencies. Security is a collective responsibility, and timely information can save lives.

Let me reassure the people of Osun that the state remains safe and secure. We will continue to empower our security agencies and work closely with traditional rulers, community leaders and all stakeholders to protect lives and property across the state.

I commend our security commanders for their dedication and, particularly, the new Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Zungura, for his proactive approach to policing and security in Osun.

Together, we will keep Osun safe.

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, has congratulated former Commissioner for Finance, Economic Planning and Budget, Dr. Wale Bolorunduro, on the occasion of his 60th birthday,calling him “an administrative and financial genius”

Governor Adeleke described Dr. Bolorunduro as a distinguished technocrat and financial expert whose professional contributions have continued to impact Osun State and the wider society, from the private to the public sector.

The Governor commended his commitment to public service, his excellent track records and his unwavering commitment to professionalism, noting that his expertise and experience in finance and economic management are of great help in the ongoing economic transformation of our state.

While praising God for his mercies on the birthday ex-banker, the governor praised Bolorunduro's technical support for his administration in the last four years and described the former state official as ‘a rare asset in state governance.

“We value your contributions especially in difficult state matters. Your expertise is a blessing for my administration as we implement far reaching reforms to take our state to greater heights.

“Dr. Wale Bolorunduro is a distinguished son of Osun whose professional accomplishments and contributions to our state deserve recognition. I celebrate this milestone and wish him many more years,” Governor Adeleke said.

Today, I inaugurated the reconstituted Governing Council of Osun State University (UNIOSUN), in a renewed commitment to strengthening the institution’s governance and advancing its position among the leading state universities in Nigeria.

I am particularly pleased with the progress recorded by UNIOSUN under its Management and Governing Council. The landmark projects and achievements of the University demonstrate what is possible when there is stability, commitment and a shared vision for excellence.

Professor Adewale Abiodun Oladipo has been retained as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, providing the needed continuity and experience. I charged him and all members of the reconstituted Council to work harmoniously with the University Management, guided by the law, mutual respect and the common objective of taking UNIOSUN to greater heights.

As a Government, we will continue to support initiatives that strengthen the University’s academic standing, research capacity, innovation ecosystem and overall development.

UNIOSUN is more than a university; it is one of the enduring investments of the people of Osun State and a source of pride for us all. I am confident that this new Council will build on the gains recorded and position the institution for greater excellence and global recognition.

May Osun State University continue to grow from strength to strength and produce graduates who will transform our society.

Yesterday, I joined family, friends and well-wishers to attend the final burial ceremony of Late Chief Mrs. Dame Olayinka Obaleye (Yinka Oba Foams) in Ilesa. I pray that God grants her eternal rest and gives her loved ones the strength to bear the loss.

I also visited the Palace of the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Ajimoko III, where I expressed my appreciation to the entire people of Ijesaland for their support and votes during the last election. I reaffirmed my commitment to the continued growth and development of Ijesaland and the entire Osun State.

𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗕𝗲 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝗸𝗶𝗿𝗲

I have issued an Executive Order establishing a Coroner Inquest/Panel of Inquiry into the killings, shootings, injuries and violence reported at Naira and Kobo Junction, Motor Park/Garage Area, Ikire, on August 24, 2026.

The panel is chaired by Magistrate Ayokunle Shiyanbola, with Mr. Abiodun Badiora as Secretary. Other members are AIG (Dr.) Aderanti C. Kayode, mni (Rtd.), Mr. Dele Akintayo, a representative of the Nigerian Bar Association, Comrade Wale Balogun representing Civil Society Organisations, a community representative from Ikire, and Dr. Babatunde Afolabi as Medical/Forensic Representative.

The panel has a clear mandate to establish the circumstances and causes of the incident, examine the roles of security operatives and other actors, identify anyone whose actions or omissions may have contributed to the violence, and recommend prosecution, disciplinary measures, compensation and institutional reforms where necessary.

I assure the people of Ikire, the families of the deceased, the injured and the entire people of Osun State that no person found culpable will be shielded from justice, irrespective of status, office, political connection or institutional affiliation.

We owe the victims and their families the truth. We owe our people justice. And we owe the people of Ikire a peaceful and secure community.
