U-M College Republicans are now distancing themselves from Iman Dashti, the student featured in Mike Rogers’ latest statewide ad after confirming the GroupMe messages offering students $200 to attend Abdul El-Sayed’s town hall, coordinate questions and boo were real. The group says the solicitation “does not reflect the values” of its organization and that it did not coordinate with Dashti.
Rogers is already struggling badly with young voters. Now even the College Republicans want distance from the guy he chose to put on camera.
Hell of a campus strategy from Mike Rogers. Maybe that works in Florida?

@n0t_Briann@dashti_iman stewart is talking about 9/11 responders being denied care by mike rogers. jon’s calling mike a coward specifically you fucking clown hahahaa 😂😂😂😂
@C9qcf5@DistillSocial are you retarded? i’m asking that genuinely because if you can’t put together a connection between the guy in roger’s campaign ads promoting payment for protestors and mike rogers you probably shouldn’t be allowed to cross the street without holding someone’s hand.
@kayleighrenel so ford foundation gave money to a production company who made a doc about abdul.
is the production company aligned with the campaign or abdul? no.
is there any actual tie btwn abdul and ford? also no.
is this a weird attack given who abdul’s opponent is? yes.
@T_Scotttttt it’s michigan. the likelihood of anyone in MI not having seen this even as a meme is minimal. i’m begging HBO to do a study of how many people nationwide watched chair company and what the concentration of viewers in michigan looked like
@CartierFilms proves he’s a manhunter IMO. how do you get to be a 4 star recruit when your OL looks like they weigh 150LBs soaking wet? manhunter powers
Mike Rogers is a corporate sellout who moves back to Michigan every few years to run for office to take another swing at the revolving door of corporate politics.
@Austen@ArmandDoma JFC you’re a whole ass dumbfuck.
not a half ass one, so good job on going the extra mile. it’s been shown repeatedly that the automated systems are prone to error and when they mess up they really mess up.
you’re gonna be right about this like you were about doge.
@cbonneauimages huge fan of your work and your reporting, but this back and forth with mehdi is genuinely confusing. he agrees with you that there’s a genocide in lebanon and im sure you’ve seen his work and he’s seen yours so whats the purpose of this line of attack?
