The student visa to OPT to H-1B pipeline boxes young Americans out of the workforce.

Plus, it incentivizes colleges to become “visa mills” catering to foreigners rather than training Americans.

After I wrote to DHS to expose this racket, the agency committed to re-evaluating the program.

DHS illegally created OPT through a regulation with the stated goal of evading the statutory caps that Congress placed on H-1B visas to protect American workers.

The proposed $100k fee is a good start. But the Admin should just end OPT rather than trying to “mend” it.

Our nation’s policies should promote and support American workers—not undercut them.

It's not in statute, we don't need Congressioanal action -- the Admin can dispense with this absurd program that favors foreigners over young Americans who clamor to start their adult lives, with careers & families!

42 percent of American graduates aged 22 to 27 are in jobs that don't require the degree they paid for.
