His Excellency Senator Dr Orji Uzor Kalu (@OUKtweets) former Governor of Abia state is one of the few Northerners' friendly leaders who, under his tenure as the Governor of Abia state, Northerners lived peacefully in Abia state.

The North appreciated him and as such conferred him with various traditional titles in almost all the states of the North, he is:

60 years of independence. 26 years of democracy.

Statistics don't lie: Poverty in our region has either stagnated or worsened depending on which report you read.

I'm not here to name names or blame anyone - pls do not construe my simple analysis to a negative comment.

Every leader who comes in to salvage us inherits a broken system. But after every 4 or 8 yrs on the same chair, the statistic doesn't change!

I am in government now, thus not as a decision-maker. So I keep asking a simple question: Why do we keep the same methods and expecting different results?

If the good people of Sokoto ever mandate me to lead (I'm dreaming 👍), I won't promise miracles but I will promise math - clear statistics:

1. Track every kobo of LG allocation publicly.
2. Digitize farm subsidies - remove the middlemen.
3. Turn Almajiri centers into skill factories.
4. Prioritize electricity & security as the floor, not the ceiling.
5. Kill "government work" as the goal. Build self-employment instead.

I am crying for #Sokoto, not against anyone, just for a future where the poverty statistic stops being our national anthem & logo.

It's a team work, so, what can you or your local government do differently?

2022: Engr Mustapha Mohammed planned to run for House of Representatives (Sokoto North/South). Proceeded to purchased the ₦10 million Expression of Interest form after our leaders gave him the go-ahead. Despite being successfully screened, our leaders asked to step down for another candidate. Out of loyalty, he did. His ₦10 million un-refunded. Still, he spent his time and resources to support that candidate – who won.

2024: He declared interest for LG Chairman of Sokoto North. Again the leaders asked him to step down. He gladly obeyed. Again, he supported the chosen candidate – who won.

2026 (just days ago): He has declared interest again – this time for the 2027 General Election, back to the Green Chamber for the same Sokoto North/South constituency.

While we are waiting to see what happens, we pray this time, our leaders won’t ask him to step down for a 3rd time – especially not for the same candidate he stepped down for in 2022, who has now publicly said he will not contest again.

One thing is certain: even if asked to step down again, Engr Mustapha will respectfully comply. His loyalty to his leaders is rock solid. But times have changed. The world is placing youth at the forefront of leadership. We need a modern, eloquent, competent, and fearless young leader like Engr Mustapha Mohammed – someone who knows our problems, feels what we feel, and will defend the interests of all Sokoto people.

I hope, this time, Engr Mustapha Mohammed Kofar Marke, Dallatun Waziri Sokoto will represent us at the Green Chamber, to Make Sokoto Great.

Materials Science is a very interesting field I studied at @KingstonUni London. I love it, I love the calculations, the analysis and the hypothetical challenges! 🤬

It is the art of giving structures various strengths, heat resistants, light weight and every other possibility such as why your frying pan doesn't stick, why glass is see-through, why diamond is hard etc. It simply deals with Metals, Ceramics, polymers and composite materials making them do what you want them to do for your comfort.
