@usa_satcom BTW, Kuhne Electronics(https://t.co/xK2sygT1pw) has just introduced an X Band Low Noise Downconverter. It’s not cheap (490 Euro) RF in 8-8.5 GHz, NF 0.8 and has adjustable LO. As soon as I get my combined L-X septum feed done, I’ll post the results

@usa_satcom Where did you get your X Band Down Converter KU8084A and the KU8000A LNA? I’ve been looking for something like this for severally years. As far as I know Kuhne no longer makes an X Band LNC especially one centered around the WxSAT or Earth imaging sats.

@LucMilette Great setup. Let us know maximum number of frames you can receive . on X band. I haven’t set up my x band system yet, but on L band HRPT I could receive from south of the Yucatán Peninsula to Fort Churchill on HudsonBay without a single lost frame.

@LucMilette Jean-Luc, what does your dish weigh? I have a 3.7 meter mesh dish weighs 100 pounds. I also have a BIG RAS HR, with a heavy duty mount (RF Ham Design) I don’t use counter weights but I did pin the EL cross bar to the mount. Just curious.

@pa4fb @TheRealMike This would be a great subject for someone to write a short description of the design and maybe post an excel file. I would do it if provided with the details. This works so well with the POTY that it would make a great addition to those of us that do WxSAT.
