@CumnorPC Indeed. Although I'd love to swim off Appleton Landing or Bablock Hythe, having seen what washes off the fields at times, and following the campaign of @WindrushWasp (the Windrush flows into the Thames not far upstream of Appleton), I don't feel confident about water quality.
@B_Strawbridge@NearbyWild So devastating and sad to see. Where I live, I'm often begging people to think twice. Sometimes they do, often they don't. It doesn't surprise me either that we're one of the most nature depleted countries.
@charlie_baker23 I mean the way you've bought a variety of bikes for different purposes. I would struggle to buy one bike at the moment. Money is tight. That's why subsidy would help.
@charlie_baker23 Love this positive thread. It did bring home to me however that to make car-free work well for yr household, you have made consumer choices that would be out of reach for many. The other thing needed, is subsidy and support, so this can be a positive choice for all.
@ClimateDad77 For people to understand in $:
By 2030
1.5C = 2% economic loss & 40-70 million refugees
2C = 50% economic loss & 400-700 million refugees
People DON'T know how cheap it'd be to avoid the worst & how urgent

@davesumnersmith I would welcome proportional representation in our electoral system, and hope that would create a parliament which gives life a chance #MakeVotesMatter
@Steph_Hafferty She's a "marketing professional", and may even have created this attention for herself. Let's just ignore it, and get on with building the world we want to see. Enough of us doing things differently will remove the oxygen which fuels that kind of planet-wrecking lifestyle 🌸🏵️🌷
@Shitlawns 15000 followers and still only 4397 signatures on our UK Gov petition 🤯 Unless your enemies are keeping you closer 🤔 Come on folks.. only 3 weeks to go 😬

Young @Windrushwasp supporters came up with their response to the @DefraGovUK consultation and made a video. Clean up your act, polluters and regulators. Have your say here - closes 12 May.

Just an Oxon #verge full of #dandelions & bluebells from nearby wood. Who loves a dandelion? 'We do..! ' said lots of small beetles, busily scoffing pollen..
Earth’s atmosphere can be thought of like a bathtub that’s close to overflowing. The water level is already so high that avoiding damage from overflow requires both turning down the faucet and opening the drain as quickly as possible.https://t.co/McGvUebGOe

Flood plains with farming removed. Things of great beauty and unarguable social function. Recreated at scale. Returning wildlife, storks, penduline tit, curlews and flowering herbs. Beavers living without conflict. Complicating and storing water.
No #election in our local ward today. What I do know is that if we had a different electoral system, there would be more representation for earth protecting voices. https://t.co/WySrGnJsT4
Do you know garlic mustard? 🙄
This fragrant plant gets its name from the fact its leaves have a garlicky-mustardy scent! They can be picked and used in salads from September until it flowers at this time of year - then look out for orange-tips topping up on nectar.
