Illinois consumers were set to start saving $500 million a year this summer under the state’s first-in-the-nation ban on #creditcard #swipefees on sales tax and tips. Instead, the ban has been delayed for a year and temporarily blocked by a federal judge while unfounded legal challenges are resolved. “$500 million may seem like pennies to credit card giants like @Visa and @Mastercard, but when people lose more of their money to credit card swipe fees they won’t be happy,” MPC Executive Committee member and NACS General Counsel @doug_Kantor says.
