Thank you @rileyinstitute for remembering this special day shared with family friends and great examples of bipartisan service and leadership in Paula Harper Bethea, Ambassador David Wilkins & Secretary Dick Riley. #DutyServiceLeadership#OneSC
It’s official! My friend Joel Lourie and I are launching our own political podcast, Bourbon In The Back Room! Our very first episode will be available this Monday, where we talk about marijuana legislation with special guest Senator Tom Davis.

Friends, I'm excited to share news with you about a very exciting project I've been working on. Over the last couple months, my friend and former Senator Joel Lourie and I have been brainstorming ways to bring more light to what actually happens in state government and politics.
Getting back into the groove of normal life, but missing the campaign trail and all the amazing memories and connections around this awesome state! This may not be my last post about that as I work through the withdrawal. Thanks in advance for your indulgence....
From Charleston to Chester, Greenville to Greelyville, our kids deserve the very best education (not minimally adequate). #DumSpiroSpero#WhileIBreatheIHope
The work continues to build @ABetterSC for all.

South Carolina’s infant mortality rate equals that of many developing countries.
#DumSpiroSpero We will not stop working for @ABetterSC
Our children’s lives depend upon it.

.@kirklandtsmith & I are so very saddened by the passing of the Honorable Liz Patterson. Her strength, grace & commiment to service was such an inspiration to @MPowersNorrell and myself. Liz was a Stateswomen. Our sincerest condolences to the Patterson family.
Not a day goes by that I don’t remember those I was privileged to serve with. We were always there for each other. Then & now. @kirklandtsmith & I are thankful for the service of our Nation’s Veterans - always faithful to them as they have been to us! #VeteransDay
Today we lost one of the most amazing women I’ve ever known. She blazed a trail for women like me and all that I accomplish will be because women like her paved the way. Thank you Liz Patterson. I love you more than words can say.
South Carolinians deserve better! We don’t have to be 49th in anything! Like you, I am tired of seeing South Carolina on the bottom of the lists we should be on the top of. We can change that. #NewLeadership#Smith4Gov#SmithNorrell
South Carolina ranks 44th in health care, 49th in highest health care costs! As Governor, I will expand health care coverage, improve access to care & lower costs by supporting preventative care to improve health outcomes. #Smith4Gov#SmithNorrell https://t.co/occcD1GfY9
When @JamesSmithSC is governor, we’ll accept the federal healthcare funds and provide good quality care for our citizens! McMaster’s refusal of those funds is unreasonable. It would add $2Billion/yr to our economy and create 40k jobs! #SmithNorrell https://t.co/LdVNIpmP8Y
.@JamesSmithSC and @MPowersNorrell visited a free medical clinic in Greenville this afternoon.
Clinics just like this one would benefit greatly under the expansion of Medicaid, and James has pledged to sign that order on his first day as governor.
#SmithNorrell#Smith4Gov
What an honor to keynote the Clyburn Fellows dinner tonight, meeting brilliant up and coming leaders in our great state! I am having so much fun on the @JamesSmithSC campaign! #SmithNorrell#Smith4Gov#scpol
@BradWarthen@MPowersNorrell Awesome...they are the team for South Carolinians. What i love about them is their not partisan. Folks don't believe the lies that maybe told. They're kind & care deeply about our state. Take the time to meet up with them, tell them your concerns - as they travel our great state.
